Very dark brown, almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of molasses, candy sugar, vanilla, bourbon, light wood. Quite sweet flavour, mlats, caramel, roasted malts, cacao, whiskey, light astringent. Finish caramel, light bitter, bourbon vanilla and lingering astringency.

Good brew, nice bourbon barrel notes.

@Basunen: stora söta bourbon-toner. Ganska smidig och len i smaken. Tydlig fatkaraktär. Söt ton med hint av muskovadosocker. Gott.

Bottle shared @ tasting. Massive thanks to Bytemesis for sending me this. White wax, 2011 vintage. Pours a pitch black beer with a medium sized beige head on top. Aroma has vanilla on top, caramel and toffee, roasted malts and touches of chocolate. Flavor is very sweet with big touches of red fruits, chocolate, massive vanilla and caramel. The boozyness from the other versions has faded in the background which is incredibly nice. Not sure if it’s the age or the different barrel. Doesn’t really matter, this is an incredible beer for sure! Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - DEC 13, 2013
13 dec 2013, bottle, blue wax edition. Almost black. Super sugary, bourbon barrel, syrup, faint raisins, some dark roasted malt. Full body and mildly fizzy. Tastes of bourbon barrel, brown sugar, winey, sweet alcohol. Great!

2011 bomber bottle shared with 2 friends. Poured a dark Brown to black colour with a small tanned head on top. Nose has a lot of charred oak, vanilla, toffee and roasted malts. Campfire smoke, and not as much bourbon anymore as what used to be i think. Some fainted red fruits and a hint of plums and raisins. With Some subtle bourbon notes. Very complex and aged very Well. Very nice

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of wood, bourbon, booze, chocolate, raw sugar, licorice and light coffee. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, wood and bourbon. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation, very smooth. Awesome. callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 12, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 Dark black brown body, medium sized khaki head. a few stray bits of lacing. bourbon, molasses, brown sugar, a bit sweet and lacking any true roasted character to balance things out and add complexity. the flavor profile is similar, with the addition of a significant amount of anise that distracts. mouthfeel is thin in parts and is a bit cloying. a bit disappointing considering past experiences with the eclipses. tkrjukoff (4334) - SWEDEN - DEC 27, 2013
Bomber shared with Lotta. Pours jet black with a small bubbly tanned head leaving some laces. Aroma is sweet raisins vinous roasted malty molasses, full bodied, some notes of coffee and chocolate mixed with alcohol. Flavor is similar to aroma, Velvety smooth, vanilla lightly bitter in front increasing towards the end. Surprisingly drinkable, not as heavy as I had expected. dark sepia, ghost for a head.. Thin cream ring. Marshmallow nose, dirty nose is mud, like when I fell on the wet soccer field after getting nut-blasted in ’01. Anise too. Flavor is heavy burnt milk chocolate, earth, toasted marshmallow in the finish, equally as disappointing as limping off the field holding my junk being asked by coach "did it hit you in the balls or the shaft?" Draft at Firestone International Beer Fest. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and dark fruit. Black with a moderate cinnamon head. Flavor is vanilla, light sweetness, and chocolate.
