2/25/12. Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Deep black pour with a small brown head. Wonderful bourbon character - wood, bourbon, vanilla, fudge, and more - on top of more chocolate and coffee. Delicious flavors of bourbon, vanilla, fudge, coffee, chocolate, a bit of booze, and more. Nice! Erzengel (8617) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 13, 2016
Intense great and smooth brew. The whisky is very smooth and woody, great and smooth in combination. Fascinating deep wth not being too sweet but with great brown-sugar hints on a nice and soft milk-chocolate basis with lots of great woody Bourbon. Round and fascinating stuff with great Bourbon and wood in the background! SudsMcDuff (8383) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - AUG 6, 2012

Bottle. Pours inky black, small brown head, good lacing. Aroma is bourbon forward, vanilla, chocolate, roasty. Flavor is fairly bourbon forward, rich and chocolate, vanilla, touch of toasted coconut. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. A bit hot, but otherwise stellar.

Bottle courtesy of Anthony. Hands down, beer of the night. Pours a deep black body with thick brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is sweet vanilla, light milk chocolate, soft oak, light molasses and syrup. Mouthfeel is creamy and divine with notes of sweet vanilla, oak, butter, bourbon, marshmallows, chocolate, and a touch of maple syrup. This was one of the creamiest, most indulgent stouts I can remember having in a very long time. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JUN 3, 2016
22, capped and waxed. Thanks, J! Wow, what an awesome unexpected treat. Pours an opaque matte black with a dense and creamy burnt tan head that goes away quickly. Big sweet nose, like milk and chocolate chip cookies except the milk is a wet bourbon barrel, so it adds apricots and vanilla. Creamy thick body, minimal carb but still present and dimensional. Chocolate chip cookies, apricot, and vanilla on the mid palate. Long sweet finish but not at all cloying. jackl (8013) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle @ THE Eclipse Tasting. White waxed bottle #1511. Cheers to Bruce for bringing this along! The pour’s deep brown with a tiny tan head. The nose is soft toffee, rum raisin cake, woody bourbon and sweet treacle. The taste is toasted wood, rustic roasted malts. Hints of sweet marshmallow and plums. Light chocolate. The finish is slightly hot bourbon, touches of vanilla. The body’s big and oily, smooth. Overall, a very nice imperial stout. I thought this edged the 12 year edition by a nose. 2011 bottle 4156 thank to billshmeinke alongside a glass of the EC18 Bourbon and a bottle of the 2008 Pappy Van Winkle Eclipse and the 2011 Buffalo Trace Eclipse. Also sampled on tap. Pours with a pitch black body and a lasting tan head with good lace. Aromas are rich, cola, almond, nutty, vanilla, dark fruits, vanilla and fudge. Very rich and decadent. Medium vanillin and oak with rich brown sugar notes. Very refined. Flavors are of vanilla, cola, dates, tannin to balance, fudgy, light smoke, currants. Full bodied and creamy with lasting raisinated flavors. Really, really good! Better than the 2008 Pappy Eclipse at this point. A lot better!
