Pours black with dark brown edges - looks a bit thin, small mocha head which settles quickly. Smells almost identical to Bourbon County which is a good thing and amazing for a ~10% beer - dark chocolate, bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla, hint of coconut. Taste is great as well - a perfect balance of dark chocolate and bourbon, oak, booze noticeable but provides pleasant warmth - I must say this is the most flavor I’ve experienced in an under 12% beer. Hate to compare it to bourbon county again but this is very similar and almost more drinkable without all the booze and thick body. Great stuff rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 13, 2013

Bottle @ GBBF ’13. Pitchblack with a brown head, that sticks to the glass. Aroma of bourbon, lots of vanilla, rich milk chocolate, sweet coffee, sweet alcohol and more. Sweet roasted taste, with mocca and milk chocolate. Soft roasted bitterness. Very well balanced and "rounded". Great beer ! JBoan (176) - Arizona, USA - OCT 7, 2013
2011 bottle thanks to Sparky! This pours black with a decent mocha head that thins quickly. Aroma of this is vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, oak, sweet roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate, brown sugar toffee, caramel, oak, roasted coffee, malt and barrel char. Sweet balanced, full bodied stout with great complexity. Amazing beer! Best 50/50 Eclipse yet! 2011 release, bottle # 5619 thanks to Dakine. Dark pour with a brown head. Aroma was mellow bourbon, roasted malt, licorice and vanilla. Taste was just awesome. Roasted malt and bourbon meld together to form a beer that you just want to sip forever. This is another "why did I share this with my brother" beer. Wonderful aftertaste, creamy mouth feel, a plethora of goodness. A first rate drinking experience.

(Bottle) Pours near black with a small head. The aroma holds woodshop, vanilla, dill, honey and dark bready malt. The flavour is medium sweet to heavily sweet and near medium bitter with smooth berrel profile, honey, balanced malt and vanilla. The mouthfeel soft, smooth and velvety with a light carbonation. Near full bodied. Fantastic. hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Poured from 22oz bottle capped with White wax. Pours black with edges of brown. Very little carbonation and no head at all. Aroma is coconut, vanilla, chocolate and some nice bourbon aromas. Taste is sweet, coconut, vanilla and warming bourbon. This one really tastes a lot like Churchill’s Finest Hour from 2011. Love this one. Nicely done. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 25, 2011
Bottle. Black with a short lived fizzy tan head. Nice bourbon forward, chocolate, caramel, and oak aroma. Smooth silky but oily palate. Tastes of smooth bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, and roasted coconut and oak. Finishing with a pronounced roasted grain and coffee flavor. Quite good with nice complexity. 48FanInCali (851) - California, USA - DEC 25, 2011
Bottle. Pitch black pour with basically no head to speak of and little carbonation. Nose is coconut, vanilla, chocolate, toffee and bourbon. Taste follows but is heavier on the vanilla and coconut. Nice warming bourbon. Will certainly improve with age but is still an absolute top beer without the age. Fabulous. JaBier (7973) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bottle #2516 shared by a friend for rating #3,000. Darkest brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, oak, dark fruit and honey. Chocolate and vanilla flavor up front, then some dark fruit and bourbon before a brandy-ish finish. Heat was very manageable, likely due to the 2 years spent in the barrel. Spectacular.
