Beautiful aromatic and tasty beer, lots of caramel, chocolate, figs, & bourbon...very black with minimal head, medium sweetness. Very top beer for pure enjoyment. kokobucks (17) - - NOV 27, 2014
First sip was hot and a but syrup like, but as the beer warmed in a snifter the bourbon mellowed. The sweetness of Totality paired with the Elijah Craig 20 year barrels was fantastic.

Bottle shared at Bavarian Lodge with my new best friend in the whole world whatsisname. Even with soapy hands from the washroom, I can smell the tiny glass at arm’s length. HEAVY alcohol nose, with sides of licorice and brandy. Solid black color, what else. If there was ever a head in this beer pour, it tucked itself between its legs to kiss its butt goodbye. Taste is thick and fully malted out, like biting into a frozen Charleston Chew. Michael Rosenow says he finds prunes in it. I say prunes, raisins, maybe even some figs. Surprisingly, I did not consider the whiskey notes, perhaps I did not know this was a barrel-aged Eclipse. But I’m happy to find Todd has amped up his recipe since I last had it years ago at Flossmoor Station. Haslinger (987) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2013
2011 bomber # 3279 white wax. Thanks kegbear! Aroma is wonderful chocolate and malt with some hints of bourbon. Pours a beautiful brown with frothy cream head. The taste is vanilla chocolate with some creamy malt notes in it. Its like drinking the best coffee ever. Super balanced without any alcohol burn for 10%. Wow just incredible beer. Damn delicious would drink again and again. barn0216 (551) - California, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Jet black, not much foam, swirling the glass shows some nice legs however. Phenomenal aroma: molasses, raisins, fig, chocolate, cinnamon, and bourbon of course. Taste brings in more of the bourbon along with some cigar tobacco qualities, a mild bitterness from cocoa/coffee. Flavor lingers long after, slowly fading to a mildly sweet and boozy finish. A top ten beer.

Bottled @ gbbf, br1 2012, white wax, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Amazing aroma of choc, bourbon, roast. Taste is soft bourbon, choc, medium sweet and bitterness. Balance is so good, great complexity. Wow. This is how i want my impy and bourbon. Great great stuff. Staffan47 (908) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - SEP 1, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2014 Champinjon....underbar...bourbon...underbar...helt underbar. Värdsklass. Choklad. Oerhört balanserad. Lite molass.
Ktwse (5667) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2014 Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of muscovado, chocolate, toffee, vanilla, just wow... Taste is big, bold barrel sweet, dark dried fruit and peats, booze, long sweetish boozy chocolate and sugar finish. Body is rich, thick and creamy with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours pitch black, dark woody head. Big butterscotch, banana, coconut and toffee aroma. Palate parades plenty of said flavours, vanilla bean, more spice like cinnamon and clove. Lots of caramel across the finish. Yeah I’m fucking done! nickd717 (4996) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 22, 2011
Thanks to largadeer for sharing a pour from his bottle. Very dark brown in color, but letting a tiny bit of light through. Not black. A small tan head sits on top and fades to a bubbly ring. The aroma is a nostril assault of awesomeness. Big rich dark and milk chocolate, mild roast, premium quality bourbon, oak, vanilla, and black cherry. The flavor has an insane complexity to it, and then on the finish it just gets better. All the amazing flavors that almost any past Eclipse has had - sweet chocolate, roast, toffee, dark fruit, vanilla, oak, and bourbon - incredibly balanced and tasty. Intensifies as it sits in your mouth. Medium-full bodied and incredibly smooth on the palate with soft carbonation. Unbe-mother-effing-lievable beer. Dude.
