Bottle @ tasting. Thnx to bytemesis for sending me this. Pours a pitch black beer with a small beige head on top. Aroma has bourbon characters, slightly more booze and some spicy notes going on. Flavor has a bit more balanced sweetness going on, slight peppery notes and a spicy notes. Aftertaste is a bit hot, boozy. A bit more balanced than the previous one. Very nice brew still. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - FEB 7, 2014
Bottle @ vertical eclipse tasting, thanks Mr. Hangover! Aroma is big Bourbon, vanilla, wood, toffee, caramel, liquorice, chocolate, light alcohol and more. Flavour is smooth chocolate, vanilla, oak, more vanilla, molasses, roast, caramel, some alcohol, imho a little bit more smooth then the old Fitzgerald, but also slightly more alcoholic somehow. Great. Zer0 (1224) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 7, 2014
Bottle cracked at mrhangover’s place at his epic Eclipse tasting. Pours very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is heavy chocolate, some coffee, lots of bourbon, smooth and a buttload of vanilla. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Very smooth edition. Full bodied with thick texture and a chocolate finish. BMMillsy (1788) - Florida, USA - FEB 5, 2014
2013 bomber, Bottle run 1 from Bay Ridge in Annapolis. Black wax. Pours black with a creamy khaki brown head into my Teku. Aroma has lots of whiskey barrel notes, subdued vanilla, dark fruits, roast molasses, honey, and a bit of chocolate. Very nice. Flavor is lots of molasses and bourbon with notes of dark raisins and chocolate, and hints of vanilla. There seems to be some wine-like notes with sharpness from the booze and barrel. It finishes with vanilla and leaves a dry oakiness on the palate. Feuit comes out more as it warms. The body is definitely on the thin side for a hefty stout, with low carbonation. While there could be more thickness to this, there is still plenty of flavor and I can see how having this on the thinner side could play well with tasting the different barrels. Overall a nice experience. Looking forward to my other 2 variants in the fridge.

On 06/18/2011. Bottle 2114/2010. No idea what the wax color was, but there can’t be many 2010 versions - if the brewery really wanted to distinguish, they’d put a different name on the label. Dark black body with a small frothy tan head. Sweet roast and chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate and caramel flavor. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.
