Ale Alpharetta December Meeting. My first experience of the Eclipse 50/50 series. Had side by side with the Rebel Yell version and this was .1 lower. Still awesome, but the cheaper (debatable) whiskey was a bit smoother in the finish. Black pour. Lots of chocolate, some coffee, great level of bourbon taste. Oaky, vanilla, awesome. Slick/full mouth. Great brew. reebtogi (6326) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 22, 2013
650ml bottle listed at 11.9%ABV pours black in color with a 2 finger light tan head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is dominated by bourbon with some dark fruits. Taste is dominated by bourbon some roasted grain bitterness and a malty sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Unfortunately, the bourbon overpowers this brew and takes a few points off the score. Still, this brew is worth trying, but not at the $35 that I paid for this bottle. Even more unfortunate is that I have 5 more bottles to purchase at this price. BeerandBlues2 (13638) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle shared by BeerandBlues2. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate, and coffee malt, prunes, dates, raisins, and dates with vanilla, whiskey, earthy and herbal hops. Flavor is dark malt, dark fruits, light hops and medium bitterness, molasses, vanilla, light whiskey and a sweet finish. Full body and light carbonation. snoworsummer (5911) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 21, 2013
From a bottle. Pours brown with almost no head. Tastes very strongly of raisins, malt, and grains. Light body and low carbon at I on. Smells like raisins, caramel, and toffee. sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 21, 2013

Clear dark brown beer, some big bubbles, but no real head. Aroma: ripe banana when opening the bottle, caramel, sugary, hint of vanilla, bit dusty, alcohol, more dried fruits, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: bit sourish start, alcohol, unripe banana, dried cranberries, of course the obvious caramel, some vanilla, sweet but not sticky, almost lemony sourness. Aftertaste: sourish touch, making it very balanced, caramel, milk chocolate, soft bitterness, dry and sourish ending, very good stuff, oh my!
2010 vintage, thanks Oregonskibum!
Pours black with a light brown head which rests down to a ring around the edge of the glass and a oily ring on the surface.
Nose has bourbon, wood, slight alcohol and a lot of raisin.
Taste has bourbon, dry dark chocolate, raisins, slight alcohol and a peppery/spicy note.
Full body, low carbonation, Mouth feel is smooth at first, then dry.
After taste is really long, dry/woody and bitter.
Very nice example of a well balanced barrel aged stout.
