4 versions of Eclipse this year. The lions share will go to Evan Williams Single Barrel. Barrels were 10-13 years old. These barrels were kept in an ambient temp storage situation. Approx 180 days in the wood. Should be somewhat bourbon forward with notable barrel character behind the spirit. Beer may have thinned due to storage temp and mild vinous notes based on oxygen pickup during aging. Estimated bottle count...3500. Subject to change...

Bottle at Local Option, Chicago. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin very broken tan head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich roasted malt with some liqourice and boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a big liqourice roasted malt coffee alcoholic whisky palate. Tastes stronger than the advertised 9.5% and the alcohol really dominates.

kermis (14494) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 15, 2013
Bottle shared at Local Option, Chicago. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of whiskey, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, fudge and toffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter. The barrel aging overwhelms the base beer too heavily. Good, but not a great BA. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 10, 2013
65cl, at 9.5%Vol, Vintage 2012 (with black wax), new exclusive American brew, with honey, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly alcoholic/woody, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, small head, very good Winter brew, yet very expensive!

mcclainc50 (217) - New York, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Pours an inky black with an off white head leaving decent lacing. Aromas of coffee chocolate and a touch of whiskey. Tastes of deliciousness, notes of chocolate, coffee, and a hint of the whiskey. Absolutely fantastic beer worth seeking out!

JBoan (176) - Arizona, USA - SEP 11, 2013
Bottle. Pours deep ink black with mocha head. Aroma is big bourbon whiskey, vanilla, oak, roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and leather. Taste is bourbon, oak, chocolate and roasted coffee. Full bodied bold stout that is a little rough big a great enjoyable beer.

kaser (6360) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 1, 2013
Just realized this was the one that slipped into the cart not knowing it was 30 bucks. Wish I would have this at a more sober time. Black and oil taste. Choclate and coffee taste. Good

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 28, 2013
22oz bottle, thanks kmweaver. Black body topped by small tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, some whiskey, light roast. Taste is moderately sweet, whiskey, milk chocolate, light char. Sticky medium-full body, light alcohol burn.

MotherBrother (945) - Aalborg, DENMARK - AUG 28, 2013
Pour is black, with a thin reddish/brownish hue, with virtually no head. Aroma has plenty of coffee, some chocolate, dry wood, slight leather, roasted malts, perhaps some tart(?) - from the wood, and a whole lot of bourbon (nice). The taste starts with a looong and lingering sweetness, with a nice bitter and roasted notes finish. Medium/semi-full bodied, with the perfect amount of semi-flat carbonation, with a tickling sensation on the tongue.

Peregrinari (148) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 27, 2013
Aroma is chocolate with whiskey cherry and some booze. Appearance is thick black dirty motor oil with a nice caramel head that though weak is sticky. The taste is chocolate with woodash that finishes with caramelized sugar. Mouth feel is somewhat drying but sticky at the same time. Overall very good.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 24, 2013
650 ml bottle @ PBF2013.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a beigeish head. Aroma of honey, dark chocolate, wood and licorice. Flavour of roasted malts, honey, boozy "cheap" bourbon, grassy bitterness and mild spruce notes. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and a burning alcohol finish with strong bourbon sweetness. Barrel runs over the interesting and complex flavours here. Destroys the base beer in a way.
