Back log entry. 22 ounce bottle pours out black top with a small tan head. Nose is dark chocolate Barrel some caramel sweetness vanilla bitter notes and some spice. UPDATED: AUG 21, 2017 2014 BR1 bottle. Pours dark with dissipating foam head. The foam head is fine and edges my glass. The aroma is rich of dark roasted malts, vanilla, and whiskey. It comes off rather inviting and pleasant on the nose. Tasting, semi bitter roasted malt flavor, medium intensity of sugar sweetness, a mild warm booze of whiskey, and some vanilla creeps thru. The finish reminds me of roasted malts, coffee, and a not intense whiskey flavor that all lingered. Rather good brew. Overall I thought everything blended nicely. I liked the bitterness character very much too. The stout held up with age and goes down smooth. Bottle from the dregs run. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, wood spice, chocolate liqueurs. Taste is boozy, more dark chocolate. Quite sweet.

Pours near opaque black with medium brown head which soon recedes leaving a small lacing. Aroma is caramel, coffee, oak.
