Poured from a 22 oz bottle that I received at the party in 2011. Aroma is like a typical eclipse but with a bit less barrel character and more of a malt presence. Chocolate and roast with some tobacco and leather. Light raisin, fig and prune notes with hints of honey. Hints of bourbon and oak. A light oxidation note in the form of sherry. Pours black with dark brown hues on the edges and a small, somewhat forced, dark tan head that recedes quickly to the edges where a clump lingers for a bit. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with moderate chocolate notes and a bit lighter roast character. Some tobacco and leather notes with a light ashy character. Light honey notes. Light bourbon and oak notes. Light to medium light alcohol spice. Some sherry notes with raisin, fig and prune as well. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and a bit silky with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol notes. Overall, a nice beer. It doesn’t seem that much higher in ABV than a typical eclipse, but it is thicker with a more pronounced malt profile.

22oz bottle pours a black color with a small white head. Bottle 80. Smooth. Nice bourbon balance. Good have mellowed but still noticeable. Sticky toffee at the end.

Simply put, they nailed this one. As good or better than any previous Eclipse release. I’m a BIG fan of barreling more than a small % of a beer (so the barreling is obvious), but less than 100% (so it doesn’t dominate) and this one is near perfect in that regard. Not sure how the twice iced Totality comes into play...probably makes this a bit stronger, thicker, and sweeter without bourbon overpowering. The EC 18 yr influence is super nice and best of all, doesn’t totally cover up the awsomeness that is the stout. Choclatey, decadent, roasted, Super smooth and full and rich. I’ll likely never have this again, and that’s too bad, cuz it’s amazing. *9.5% on the bottle, rumors saying that’s for show. If it’s iced, it’s stronger than the base. Untappd has it at 14%. Either way, not hot at all."

24/XII/13 - 65cl bottle @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - BB: n/a (2013-1175) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, no head. Aroma: lots of vanilla, caramel, burnt sugar, coco powder, bourbon, alcohol, dark chocolate. MF: no carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, dark chocolate, bit sourish. Aftertaste: alcohol, caramel, vanilla, pretty sweet, milk chocolate, alcohol, bitter hoppy touch, slightly sourish. Darn good beer!

65cl, with neck label ’Eclipse Iced in Steel Kegs’, at 9.5%Vol (?), Vintage 2011 (with light blue wax), Bottle N° 96, new exclusive American brew, with honey, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex Stout, roasted/woody and slightly alcoholic/sweet, yet not too heavy, very balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good Winter brew, yet very expensive!

22 oz. bottle shared by generously shared by b3shine (Oct. 2012). Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma had roasted malt, dark caramel, honey, some dark fruits, vanilla with barrel notes. The flavor has big dark fruit, roasted malt, chocolate, dark caramel, vanilla, wood, hints of bourbon with some honey like sweetness. The flavors are big and concentrated; very tasty.
