Dark brown/black with a large beige head. Aroma is dates, raisins, whiskey, chocolate. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, complex on the palate with a subtly boozy finish. Taste is caramel, whiskey, chocolate, dates, wood.

Looks like every other eclipse variant. Nose was sweeter than others with a bit more cocoa and rye spiciness. vanilla is dominating. Oily with a thick mouthfeel. this one has aged really well. Sweet throughout, a touch of coconut and charred oak at the finish.

Smells like a super roasty, chocolatey stout. But then it tastes better - for a 9%, Id expect some heat from liquor but this covers it really well. You can still taste the flavor of whiskey (which is awesome, obviously). Its aged nicely and Id definitely drink it again.

"Not a huge fan of corn whiskey, but was a dan of this beer. Well integrated but obvious barreling. Boozy and viscous. Lots of dark fruit and chocolate. Smooth body, a little alcoholic as it warms. Another Eclipse thats real nice but not worth the coin. "

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong wood, booze, roast. Slick mouthfeel with rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, wood, and light booze. Easy to drink, very nice.

2012 Bottle. Near black pour with a tan head. Aroma and flavor of hot boozy bourbon, light smoke, roasted malt, milk chocolate, and oak chips. This barrel aging doesnt add much except a bit of heat.

Bomber bottle vintage 2012. Near black with tan head. Aroma is faint and soft, dominated by bourbon and raisins. Taste is soft, very well balanced, bourbon, plums and faint apple notes. One of my favourite Eclipses!

65cl, at 9.5%Vol, Vintage 2012 (with gold metallic wax), new exclusive American brew, with honey, from Mikkeller Webshop, complex Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly alcoholic/spicy, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, small head, good Winter brew, yet very expensive!

Bottle at Eclipse 7 Tasting. Pours another opaque black with a tiny beige head. Smells of alcohol. Sweet and dry with aromas of dark chocolate and burned caramel with lots of alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish with more alcohol and caramel.

SlackerMads (3196) - DENMARK - APR 20, 2014
Bottle, 2012. Close to black with a medium sized diminishing tan head. Wooden, brown sugar, molasses, light alcohol presence, bourbon, light dark chocolate. Medium/full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Not overly dominated by bourbon and overall feels quite light and mellow.
