Bottle at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Light palate, a little dry. Airy. Semi sweet dark malt. Trace of dark chocolate. Little wood and vanilla. Finishes semi dry with spicy bourbon and a little aniseed but the alcohol heat is kept in check.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, London - big thanks to Ken for another great one. Pours deep, brown-black with a frothy, beige foam head. Aroma holds lots of dark fruits, some alcohol, nips of strawberries and dark chocolate. Big sweet flavor, lots of dark bread, plenty of dark fruits, blackberries, mellow chocolate, some burnt wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, fairly dry with all the burnt wood, some burnt brown sugar, bits of vanilla, hard alcohol, cake. Sweet, rich, pretty dry, goody roasty malts...I like it.

10/11/11/11/12/11

Bottle split at the Cotteridge Convention, massive thanks to GT2 for gifting me this one, 24/01/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light chocolate, big roasted notes, spice, hint of coconut, dark toffee fudge, woody barrel tones. Taste comprises dark malts, rich chocolate, liqourice, molasses, toffee melt, subtle well tempered bourbon tunes. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, subtle BA wash in the close. Solid BA impy, good balance, easy drinker.

Bottle at USA comes to Göteborg 2014. Opaque black beer with a small but lasting beige head. Roasted chocolate aroma, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, woody, raisins, figs, plums, some cream, bourbon, some raisins, and figs. Raisin and fig flavor, caramel, vanilla, whiskey, cream, coffee notes, licorice, chocolate, spicy notes, coffee, some cocoa powder. Another great Eclipse, I dont see how they could possibly fail with this base in a beer.
