PowY (1137) - AUSTRIA - OCT 20, 2017
650 ml bottle, vintage 2015, shared by Sander, many thanks. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a tan colored head. Lots of coffee in the aroma in front of roasted malt - nothing stands out in particular, but overall very balanced. Medium-full to full body with a low carbonation, a medium sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. Some noticeable alcohol. Flavor of caramel and lots of coffee, some mildly burnt notes, licorice, nuts, hazelnut, some brown sugar. Lots of coffee on top of an exceptionally well balanced and smooth, roasty beer - very good!

650 ml bottle, 2015 vintage, shared by Sander, thanks!

Black body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.

Aroma of coffee beans, espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate, some dark fruits.

Tastes lovely, with similar, with some more tobacco, liquorice.

Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.

Finishes roasty, moderate bitter, a bit sweet, a bit wooden, with lots of smooth coffee again, some honey, some ash, some liquorice

Very tasty. Lovely smooth coffee throughout, which is quite dominant, but perfectly integrated. Drinks really smooth, alcohol isn't noticeable. Great, very smooth Coffee Stout.

Lonick (2537) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 3, 2017
Bottle @Christmas Tasting 30.07.2017. Pours black, tan head. Nose is massive coffee, not a lot else going on. The taste is again huge coffee.

Bottle from the dregs run. Pours black with a thin tan head. Strong coffee and chocolate aromas, more of the chocolate liqueurs vibe. More coffee on the taste, but quite well-integrated with the impy stout, not dominating. Best of the three today for me.
