2013 sample at HMOG 2015, if you can follow that. Whiskey aromas. Bit of the same on the flavor. This is a good series of beers. Not knowledgeable enough to pick out the barrel of each but it is a well made barrel aged beer. Spice alcohol drowns out the base beer a bit. The base does give a little body to the overall drink. Pour from bottle at Zwanze Day 2012 at the Barrel Cellar. Big thanks for the pour Bill!! Appearance is dark brown with a slight red tint and a small brown head. Dark fruit, prunes, wood/oak, raisins, slightly roasty aroma. Taste is toffee, caramel, plums, black licorice, anise, with a really smooth middle and roasted, dark chocolate finish that seems to linger on your tongue. Slick mouthfeel with really no carbonation. Really good barrel aged beer. Nice! Huhzubendah (3761) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 18, 2012

Finally getting around to trying this beer. I’ve been excited about this one for some time. Shared with the group during a FiftyFifty themed tasting.
The beer appears near black with a thin beige head. The aroma is vanilla, perhaps some toasted coconut, roast, chocolate, oak. Lovely. The taste follows suit. Simply delicious. A standout among the FiftyFifty Eclipse series.
It was interesting sipping this side by side with the Elijah Craig 18 Eclipse. I think both are fabulous beers, each offering a myriad of flavors. Highly recommended.
At a tasting, thanks DSG, smallish creamy head, opaque black color, aroma of carob and dried figs, with some chocolate and coffee, flavor of coffee, dark chocolate, some chocolate cake and some cinnamon spiciness, just a bit heavy. Quite good but could be better. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2013
2011 Bottle...Pours deep brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has nice mild vanilla and roast with light bourbon...slightly boozy. Flavor follows suit but not boozy and adds layers of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and toasted coconut. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has dark chocolate/brown sugar/and bourbon...very warming. 22 oz bottle, 2011. Dark brown with spotty bubbles and lacy rings. Nose is bourbon, dark chocolate, peppery oak and molasses. Body is substantial and hot but not pushing it in either case. Delicate prickly carb lightens and lingers. Taste like the nose with the mellow bourbon set off beautifully against the rich chocolate and molasses. Hints of coconut and raisin. Delish. 50belair (3684) - Florida, USA - APR 9, 2013
Bottle shared by Colin. Smooth and mellow. Not quite as good as the 20, but still one of my favorite treatments. I really dig those those caramel malt, vanilla, oak, and dark roasted malts. Good body and mouthfeel. A very nice imperial stout... SlackerMads (3543) - DENMARK - APR 20, 2014
Bottle, 2013. Dark brown close to black with a small tan head. Light tropical fruit, flowery, bourbon, dark chocolate, warming alcohol, wooden, cocoa, light marshmallow (hvid delfin). Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium/heavy sweet and bitter. Pretty good balance and drinkability.
