UPDATED: DEC 2, 2017 22oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Dutch's crew. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruit, cherry, bourbon is well integrated into the base beer, vanilla, some earthy bitterness, chocolate covered cherries, another solid entry into the family.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2017 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted malt, chocolate, soft bourbon, cherry woody and small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a rich smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted sweet bourbon chocolate flavor with a medium to heavy complex sweet smooth finish of moderate to long duration. This is another standout brew.

Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is dark chocolate, smoked malts, licorice, bourbon. Taste is dark chocolate, booze-filled-chocolate-candies, vanilla, some charred oak. I think I enjoyed the Elijah Craig one more.

Sample from 2016 bottle during the "Biennial Space Tasting!" on 08/20/2017. Pours black with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of bourbon, malt, dark chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, vanilla, fudge and roast malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 Poured from a 2016 vintage bottle. Aroma is balanced between bourbon and malt notes. Some dark chocolate with lighter roast and hints of honey, prune and raisin. Light oak and medium light bourbon notes. Pours black with a medium large, thick, creamy, dark mocha head that exhibits nice retention as it recedes to a small, thick film that lingers. No lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with lots of chocolate and lighter honey and toffee notes. Light roast and faint raisin and prune notes. Medium bitterness with some light alcohol spice. Moderate bourbon notes with some light to medium light oak. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and slightly silky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but resent alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright Eclipse, but its a bit boozy and this one would probably benefit from another year of rest. - 3.8 - 2015 vintage - Aroma has more chocolate and toffee with hints of vanilla than the 2016. Bourbon notes are lighter and the alcohol spice has faded a bit. Flavor is fairly sweet with rounded chocolate notes and light roast. Some light toffee and caramel. Balanced bourbon notes with almost no alcohol heat. Overall, this vintage is really nice and my score for this beer is base don this vintage. 2014 vintage - Aroma is similar to the 2015 with a lot of chocolate and softer bourbon notes but there is also a bit of leather and tobacco setting in. Flavor has a moderate sweetness, but there are some light oxidation note with honey, leather and tobacco. The chocolate notes are more bittersweet/baking chocolate. It seems like the 2015 is the best vintage for this variant. I would give this vintage a 3.8 as well.

anstei (2832) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours black with a surprisingly bright foam. Aroma is strong barrel, some honey, coffee and honey, quite burnt and wooden. Strong and heavy body, intense, boozy, still burnt, some spice. Works, but not the most impressive of this series. Good.

Black with medium brown head. Aroma is vanilla pudding, slight alcohol, slight oxidized stuff, honey, phenols, some cocoa. Taste is sweet and spicy chocolate with some bitter cocoa. SMooth with smoky dusty finish. Which is great. Nice.
