COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
RyePA is a “West Coast” style IPA brewed with Rye Malt, a great beer if you are a hophead. This beer is brewed with 20% Rye Malt and 5% Flaked Rye, creating a big malty beer with a spice note and strong mouth feel. The hops provide a full frontal assault of citrus, balancing quite well with the malt character.

Another new beer on my stop this past weekend. Just an incredible beer. Tons of spicy/piney hops in the flavor. Floral, citrusy hops in the aroma. Very hop forward kind of beer. The hops chosen really go well with the malt bill here. Really smooth, really brought together super well. If it’s on tap and you are visiting, get it.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep golden amber. Thin white head. Super super musty like and old basement. Some earthy spice-pine bitterness. Subtle citrus. Medium heavy body. Long earthy bitter finish.

This is okay. The malt is a bit sweet but not too heavy on the rye. It’s pretty good at times but not at othera. Eh.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours dark and very ruddy. Aroma of malt and rye. Med body. Flavor is "Amber mall" and rye. Maybe some citrus hop. Malty, but rye saves the beer.

Draft at the brewpub. Hazy golden. Nose grassy hop and biscuit malt. Taste of the spicy rye, strong bitter mid, and peppery finish

On tap at the brewery in Truckee. Dark orange pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is slight rye spiciness, dank hops, pine resin. Interesting take on a rye IPA, but everything is a little to far on the subtle side.

Danker hops than the Rockslide and darker amber. Much less citrus notes, but the rye is very subtle, too much so for me. Good beer but not a great rye IPA.

Ratman197 (15220) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 19, 2012
On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of rye, earthiness, pine and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, orange zest, pink grapefruit and light pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering rye finish.
