A- pours an opaque cola brown with mahogany edges. Head is a light red tan, on the thin side and dissipates quickly before clinging to the edge of the glass. Lacing is decent. S- chocolate, dirt, coffee, roasted malts, and some mustiness. Soy sauce as it warms. Standard aromas. M- thin but medium body with an oily medium palate. Good carbonation. T- chocolate, cacao, coffee to start. Watery in the middle with some earth. Hops, grass and bitter chocolate on the medium ending. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2013
On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF. Dark black with a thin brown head. Aroma promises baker’s chocolate and the taste is loaded with waves of cocoa. Nice oily mouthfeel. Decent overall but not exceptional, lacking some of the complexity and brute force of other imperial stouts. It would be interesting to see how a barrel (supposedly) transforms it. Bottle at Great British Beer Festival 2013.
Poured a black black with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa and coffee. Quite powerful carbonation and a slightly more watery mouth feel than I would hope for in an Imperial Stout. Flavours of roasted malt, berries, chocolate and some sharp citrus notes. Ends with nice burnt malts and espresso. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 29, 2013
Draft at craft ale house. Pours pitch black with a medium sized brown head.. Small bubbles on the glass. The aroma has a big coffee bean, roasty notes, some milk chocolate.. Nestle quik . The taste has a big milk chocolate lead which blends to bitter dark chocolate and coffee grinds. This is just sweet enough to balance the bitterness. The palate is full but relatively easy to drink.

Full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A tasty, well-balanced big stout. biirusaikou (2705) - - AUG 21, 2013
Nice toffee aroma. Milky chocolate, roasted coffee, sweet finish. Quite syrupy but very pleasant dessert drink. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2013
22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a puffy tan head. Nose is light coffee and chocolate, fig and honey. Medium body with a silky mouthfeel finishing chalky with a lingering roasty tang. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, espresso, grapefruit and wood. Solid stuff; would benefit with some aging to temper the hops. yespr (47039) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - AUG 15, 2013
