UPDATED: SEP 4, 2016 Pours a thin head on a clear dark straw body. Aroma is caramel and a little candy. Taste is caramel, fruits and zippy lemon. Texture is crisp and fizzy. Great flavor and aroma.

June 21st, 2014 - I confess, I had never heard of "Danish Style" anything, let alone a Danish Style Red Lager, but the self-categorization for this Figueroa beer intrigued me. The beer is indeed a nice foxy red-orange color, and it smells mostly like a rusty red brew, metallic and slightly sweet. The flavor is similar, again metallic and marked with notes of caramel and apple, but with a few lighter sweet notes like strawberry, all served on a light palate.

I had this one at the brewery. A nice red color, malty backbone. Sweet. Not too complex.

Draft - Light butterscotch and caramel. Clear copper with a decent white head. Light sweet caramel and not much else.

Draft. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Toasted and sweet malts, faint herbal notes, and mild bitterness. Pretty good.

Medium amber color. Dried strawberries and caramel in the nose. Clean light body, fairly simple, but well made Vienna.

Red colour with no head and strong visible fizz. Too fizzy for my taste. Bit of a warm spice aftertaste. (K)

Draft. Aromas of hot caramel and maybe a bit of apple. Flavors are lits of caramel, a touch of grass and then a quick, hoppy, biscuity finish. Beautifully done.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, biscuit, some red fruit into a bit of nice noble hop notes, some vanilla and cracker, touch of grass. Taste is a mix of caramel, biscuit, and toasted bread into some noble hop spice, floral notes into some vanilla, touch of grain, finishing slightly dry, bitter.

Ontape (471) - Valley Village, California, USA - NOV 16, 2014
Draft. Pours a clear amber with some white head. Typical Vienna lager notes but a bit strong and a bit sweet compared to my favorite examples. Some caramel, touch of hops, rich.
