3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber from whole foods santa barbara. this beer was everywhere on tap during my week in santa barbara, which makes sense because the brewery is in a nearby town, in the santa ynez valley. i would give this beer’s name a "5" but unfortunately names are not on the rating system. perhaps they should be added? there is so much competition by good ipa’s in california that it is easy to give this beer a "good but not great" rating, which is what i give it. that is not to say that this is not a nice hoppy citrusy ale, because it is. a very "drinkable" ipa. very dry, as others have noted.
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2017 bright pine and grapefruit aroma. looks great with a foamy head and hazy straw body. taste has a sharp pine bitter start, then a mellow juicy grapefruit and orange flavor. nickel (1223) - UKRAINE - AUG 18, 2017

On tap at the brewery, Santa Barbara. Pours clear golden, white head. Citrus, moderate hoppiness, malty, bready, malty, caramel, sweet. Light to moderate bitterness in finish. Medium bodied. jake65 (3983) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - JUL 14, 2017
Bottle: Dark orange color with a big beige head. Aroma is modest florals and earthy spiciness. Floral hops are herbal and spicey, has a bit of a tea flavor. Lightly sweet and crisp with lingering bitters. Seems like I’ve had a whole lotta citra lately, so this was a nice change of pace... this probably has citra and I don’t pick up on it, either way I dig it.

Sample at TK Pizza & Pasta. Clear copper-amber color with a medium thin bone white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, dank citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle from Key Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is soggy hops, some earthy spice, maybe some agave. Taste is murky, earthy and vegetal. Very soggy for an IPA...had this back-to-back with Marin Three Flowers IPA which was much more wet and fruity. kathouse (1930) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - APR 3, 2017
Slightly hazy with a small white head. Aroma is citrus and some floral notes. Flavor follows suit but not a strong hop bitterness. Finish was refreshing without too much dryness. PugUglyBrewer (765) - - MAR 26, 2017
Golden-orange color with a whispy head of white foam. The aroma and flavor is surrounded in dank citrus, sweet caramel grain, earthy/vegetable herbs, and finsihed by sweet cereal and dy spicy hops. back (2204) - Holstebro, DENMARK - MAR 19, 2017

Within the FM big beers and again within the hoppy beers were all pleasant alone, but all had far too many similarities in supposedly different styles and treatments. Too much in common to appreciate as much as a whole.
A touch more bitterness than the other two. Still clean and fruity. Not bad.
