Good body to this one with plenty of coffee and chocolate flavors. Falls a little flat in the finish. Dogbrick (13554) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 2, 2017
2014 bottle. The beer pours black with a medium light brown head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, coffee and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasty malt and coffee character, with some chocolate in the background. The finish is smoked malt and coffee. Decent overall. At the bar in the ’Funk’ zone of Santa Barbara with Patty, Andy and Kara. A fast stop in for a beer on the way to dinner. Poured black with a modest tan head and lace. Coffee aromas are strong upfront, with chocolate and dark fruits following. Flavors are similar, with the sweetness of milk chocolate most evident. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, and the milk chocolate sweetness lingers in the finish. blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 18, 2016
