22oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Boozy caramel chocolate. Brown amber, deep body. Oily, patchy beige head. Classic US Barleywine with a nice chocolate touch on top. Really nice balance and depth. Quite enjoyable. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 15, 2013
22oz bottle, from Crown Liquors in downtown Indianapolis. Totally clear brown color. Thin khaki head. Bits of lace. Caramel malts, light chocolate. Some coffee. No hop flavor really, tastes a bit on the older side. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of chewy lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate to bigger sweet taste. Light bitterness. Maybe a light bit of warmth. Interesting dark barley wine, but it tastes a little old sand malty sweet for me to enjoy. Light bite in the finish. phaleslu (10271) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2013
22 oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm- thanks again, Chris! Pours a cloudy brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, nuts, roasted malts, light smoke, earth, and chocolate. Flavor of bitter dark chocolate, earthy hops, smoked and roasted malts, and toasted brown sugar. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bitter, toasty mouthfeel. Certainly a unique take on the style, just not my favorite. alexsdad06 (10431) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 12, 2013
22 oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a clear dark cola brown color with a thin beige film. The aroma and flavor have dark caramel, some roasted, herbal, wood, some bitterness, decent enough. b3shine (8875) - Indiana, USA - DEC 12, 2013
Bomber to snifter (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks decent; a murky brown with razor-thin light beige lacing. Smells sweet and malty with a bit of roast. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Alright.

Aroma is like a black ipa, roasty and hoppy. Taste is more roast and hops, maybe some pine. Really would not call this a barleywine, very malty, pretty hoppy yet has barleywine sweetness. Really tasty. homebrewdude (8) - Chesterton, Indiana, USA - DEC 27, 2012 does not count
Had a sample at the brewery, I didn’t even order a glass.
Wish I hadn’t read it was a barleywine...
I should detect roast, but in this beer there is a decent amount of roast.
Too much roast and not enought hops - why is this a barleywine???
Lacking in hop bitterness, aroma and aftertaste. What style is this???
Lots of malt and sugar sweetness, completly out of balance.
Cherry? Now sure where that came from.

Went back and forth with the brewer and a local as to whether this was in fact jumbo love. Nothing like a barleywine at all, but the brewer told me he hooked up the right keg. My local friend shook his head no when he walked away....BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - FEB 6, 2011
Appearance: Pours a deep amber with a creamy beige head.
Aroma: Nuts, toast, dark fruit, alcohol.
Taste: Bread crust, herbal hops, bitter yet fruity finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium, way to thin to be a BW.
Overall: Might have been Ro Sham Po? Anyway, it was drinkable!
Tap: Deep brown with purplish highlights, small head and slightly oily appearance. The aroma is very roasty and bready, some notes of Carafa malt for sure along with a hint of smoked meat, sherry, fig, and cherry pit. Earthy house yeast esters along with some alcohol noted. The taste starts twangy and malty with a background of char and smoke, fig pudding. Hint of old school oxidization, a good thing in this case. Noble hops and some resiny tones too, slap of alcohol cleanse palate. The mouth feel is sharp and aggressive, oily with slight warming. Sort of cross between a Black IPA and an Old Ale, quite yummy. Would love to see this barrel aged. Tmoney99 (14492) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2011
Draft sample at IBGW 2011. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate complex malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were met.
