Cask (gravity) @ NBF 2015 [ The 40th. Nottingham Beer Festival (The 8th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival) ], Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EB.

[ As FILO Old Town Tom ].
Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, spicy, ginger - coriander. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, spicy bitter, malt sweet, pale malt, ginger. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. My Bottom Line:
The ginger dosage in this one is wise, basically replacing subtle hoppiness within honeyed cereals.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the pale amber mist.
-This almost tastes like their Crofters with ginger added.
-The flavour profile is balanced.
-The mouthfeel is soft and prickly.

On cask at their pub.

Gravity cask at Nottingham festival day two with fonefan, Charlotte & chriso. Clear deep bright golden color. Aroma of light fruit. Taste is spiced hay, straw, lemon. Tasty.

Bradford Beer Festival 2015. Copper with a glow and a small head. It’s spiced with hoppy ginger notes. It’s light textured and easy drinking.

Cask at the FILO. Amber gold with a thin white head; aroma of fresh root ginger; thin but pleasant with light fresh root ginger flavour and a touch of lemon grass; the finish is refreshing, lemony, citrus. A good summer refresher.

[3188-20100731] Cask. Super ginger evergreen bursts of fresh aroma. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a quick foamy white head. More spicy ginger in the flavour with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium body seems a little gritty. Very gingery!

2010-07-31. Crisp golden amber body with a small off-white head that fades. Good dose of fresh ginger in the aroma. 6+ Flavour is similar, modest refreshing ginger character, light bitterness throughout. Mild malt is supportive, while ginger is the star of the show. More drinkable than many ginger brews, it is fairly well balanced. Average to light bodied palate. Decent, it is nicely made but I would probably not have it again as it is not to my own tastes. Cask conditioned gravity dispense Merchants Inn Rugby. A hazy dark copper coloured beer with no head. A reasonable yet subtle ginger note to the aroma. Much more ginger in the mouth which has a kick of heat. A smooth pleasant base beer which becomes very nice with the ginger added.

Ethereal (2471) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JAN 1, 2009
Cask at the Eastbourne Beer Festival, 9th Oct 2008. Clear amber. Tons of fresh ginger on the aroma but its not harsh. Fresh tasting with a ginger hint. Very drinkable with a soft bittersweet finish. My socks were knocked off - a great spice beer at last!

Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2007
Dec 06 Cask conditioned @ FILO, Hastings. I didnt really notice the ginger here but it wasnt your average bitter. Fruity hops and sweet spicy malts. FILO acidity more restrained and in place here. Quite drinkable.
