COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Secret Stache Stout is a robust stout. The specialty ingredients, vanilla bean and lactose, lend to its complexity and full flavor. While no actual chocolate was used to brew this beer, heaps of chocolate malt give the beer its color as well as its chocolate and coffee notes.

Can shared in NYC. Pours deep black-brown with a frothy beige head. Lots of chocolate in the nose, roast, dark fruits, earth. Medium sweet flavor with some bittersweet cocoa, brownies, burnt marshmallows, dried dark fruits, ash. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with sweet chocolate, bitter ashy roast, scorched earth, more dried dark berries. Nice.

500ml can (Tommyknockers, Helsinki)
Pleasant roasty aroma, a bit sticky, maybe scalded milk too. Taste even better, super rich, but mellow too, nice coffee cake creaminess. Full palate, roast sticks to the tongue. Finish is milky coffee. That might be because they added lactose and coffee? So, yes, this tastes of beer with stuff added. However, it’s very drinkable.

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Dror Sparrow. Black with a light brown foam. Sweet aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, a bit of milk and a bit of coffee. Nice flavor of chocolate and vanilla, sweetish with a moderately bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Good.

Draft sample at IBGWF 2013. Poured clear dark ruby color with an average to large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet chocolate malt and vanilla aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted malt and sweet vanilla ice cream flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid smooth brew.
