COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Can from my buddy Tim - thanks! Hazy rich orange pour with a spotty white head. Really nice aroma and taste of bready/caramel malts, citrus hops, and a nice little hop punch right at the end. Good stuff.

16 oz. can. Poured a hazy, light amber with a fluffy white head. Sweet malts, bready start with a citrusy finish. Medium bodied, well balanced. Not bad but fairly unremarkable.

On tap with J9 at Prohibition for the Finch release. Pours rich hazy orange with a thick, fluffed out head. Aroma of orange rinds, lemon zest, pine needles, and pineapple slices. Tastes of bittersweet mandarin with some nice bitter dryness in the finish. Palate is full with a supple, clean dryness to it. This is an excellent IPA and a sure bet for fans of the juicy yet bitter/dry variety. Awesome Finch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had on-tap at Bad Brad’s BBQ in New Baltimore, Michigan. Average, run-in-the-mill IPA. That’s just about the best way to describe this beer... frustratingly "meh." I had this because it was the only beer on the short list of drafts that I hadn’t heard of, and I was feeling IPA. It has a nice amber color with a small head. The lacing’s not too bad -- about average for an IPA. Average ... that’s a word you’ll be hearing a lot when describing this beer. Threadless has a smell and taste of - get this - an average IPA! Has the floral notes in the aroma, and the hops > malts in the taste, with the bitter bite on the finish. Yeah, yeah ... not bad, nothing special. $5.50 for a pint of this? Yikes. Threadless IPA is the very definition of a middle of the road, decent, okay, alright, fine, AVERAGE IPA. Would drink it again, but I wouldn’t pay for it again.

Pours hazy amber with a medium white head. Aroma is citrus, toast and floral. Taste is medium bitters and a touch of sweetness, the citrus shines through. Light to medium bodied with a smooth texture and crisp finish. Very refreshing and great at only 6% to drink a few.

Can from sam’s. pours a glowing opaque pinkish orange with a thin layer of lace on top. Nose is floral, citrus, grass, light caramel, papaya, light rye spice. Flavor is more balanced, not quite as bitter as expected, lots of fruity sweetness with some pine, lots of florals, and grassy hop notes. Almost tastes like a slightly bitter tropical juice of some kind and the carbonation is soft which suggests a juicy mouthfeel but the grass and pine bitterness still finishes things off. Interesting ipa.

Draft sample. Nose of floral hop and some fruit. Taste initial grapefruit bitterness, followed by astringent bitter finish. Nice sample.

Brewhaha. Cloudy amber color. Very nice aroma, fruity. Lean mouthfeel, with good malt and toffee flavor; the hopping is bold but well blended, providing resins in the front, and some fruity presence. Just avg!

Draft - pours hazy orange with offwhite head and great lacing. Nose is citrus. Flavor adds grapefruit, lemon peel, caramel and general citrus. Bitterific and sweet enough to keep it in check. Medium body. Dryish finish.
