COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

On tap at the annual CBS picnic, and self served to clear plastic with a hazed, orange/amber hue, a thick amount of creamy head foam, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light grain, citrus as grapefruit and some orange, light sweetness, and a touch of resin. The flavor presented an earthy, pungent, and very lingering hop bitterness, but enough malt to smooth the edge a bit. Well carbonated, and medium bodied, it paired well with the spicy picnic faire, and was my IPA choice of the day.

16oz can in a shaker. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and some caramel malts. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A standard IPA.

callmemickey (4543) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Hazy orange amber body. Nose shows off some orange, lemon and grapefruit--not much else but some pale malts. Flavor is similar, but a bit more muted as the citric hops are left hanging. Medium bodied. Appropriate carbonation. Thin finish. Ok.

Gachupines (1252) - USA - SEP 3, 2012
Pale golden with a thin white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy with some grapefruit tones. Flavor is solidly hoppy, big grapefruit flavor. Nice bitterness in the finish. Could use a little more malt to round out the finish. Overall, very solid IPA, works quite well for a hot day.

tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2012
16 oz can. Pours a very murky golden orange with hop particles, thick off white head, and fantastic lacing. Nose is mostly caramel malt with a little piney and muted citrus hops. The hops come through more with the taste. PIneapple, citrus, pine. Real strong bitterness, borderline palate wrecker.

PhillyCraft (7235) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 1, 2012
On tap at capones, pours cloudy bright orange with medium off white head. Aromas and taste of bitter hops, pine, strong grains, caramel, light malts. Finish had a strong citrus hop bite. Good ipa to pair with food especially spicy stuff due to the bitterness.

drfabulous (7950) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 31, 2012
16 ounce can. Nice carbonated pour. Like Cut Throat, malty. Big malt presence. Some citrus. Bit of sweetness that gets a little coying. Overall, decent and drinkable for this particular take on the IPA.
