COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

16oz can, unknown date, but should be fresh as this is a recent arrival to the Georgia market. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours hazy amber with a two finger white head that leaves good lacing and holds a nice cap.

Aroma is apricot, some citrus rind, herbal, grassy, floral hops and a bit of pine, decent amount of caramel malt as well. Good strength.

Flavor is orange citrus, apricot, pine, resinous hops, good caramel malt backbone offering some sweetness, finishes with good bitterness, mild alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, oily, good carbonation.

Solid IPA, very drinkable. Does fall into the apricot/caramel spectrum of the style which isn’t my personal favorite profile.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2016 At Gene’s rooftop. Dark amber for an IPA. Big fruity hops and quite bitter. The bitterness settles strangely in the palate though and while it wasn’t bad I just wasn’t a big fan of this. Serving: Tap

Pounder can from Capone’s. Pours turbid orange with 2-finger frothy off-white head that laces copiously. Nose is malty, with earthy piney hops, citrus, with tangeriney and black peppery smells. Tastes piney, hoppy, semi-sweet with orange marmaladey flavors, black pepper, and a big IBU-heavy finish.

This is nice. It’s got a great citrusy flavor from the hops, but a nice full body as well. It’s well balanced and extremely enjoyable.

Pours a darkish amber color with a small head. Big hoppy citrus nose with some caramel malt. Also getting some pine. Taste has a solid bitterness and a nice taste. Lots of orange citrus. Nice lasting finish that is refreshing. A really good ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ah hell I'm in Chicago so I might as well try Finch's Threadless IPA while at Jake Melnicks (get the wings!). It's probably more citrusy than I usually like, but the hoppiness balanced it out nicely. All in all a solid IPA... Reminds me a lot of Sweetwater IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can: The aroma consists of caramel, fruit, and light grapefruit. It pours a hazy amber with some sediment floating around. It has a two finger orange tinged off-white head that has very good retention and leaves some nice lacing rings. The flavor starts with some sweet citrus and caramel. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and a hint of toasted notes. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, I generally don’t score IPAs with caramel notes highly. I didn’t really score this high, but the caramel notes in this IPA didn’t bother me as much as they usually do.

Sampled at 2012 Indianapolis Brew Ha Ha. A really good IPA. Sweet malts is balanced and paired with the hops very well. Smooth with a little bite. Well put together.
