COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

From a 16 oz can shared at home. Pours a clear gold with a thick off white head. Light floral hop nose. Some grassy and citrus flavors. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, bitter finish.

Can: Orange peel and pine nose with a kiss of clover honey. Shimmering amber, thick firm pale yellow head. Pleasantly bitter pine needle flavor, grapefruit finish. Alcohol not noticeable, thinnish mouthfeel. Nice transitions, drinkable. Nicely done.

Pours deep amber into an English pint. Off-white micro head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing to coat surface. Sour caramel aromas. Soft with sour caramel and resin front to back and into the lasting earthy finish.

Location: Can at Monkey Bar in Philthy, 11/16/13

Aroma: The nose is grassy and hoppy, some pine, earth, citrus, and a hint of butter
Appearance: It pours a heavy golden-amber color with an off-white head
Flavor: The taste is pretty nice and hoppy, but then that buttery malt flavor kicks in
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty nice feel, and drinks really easily
Overall Impression: I thought this was a good attempt at an IPA with some nice hoppy components to it, but there’s a bit of a buttery malt flavor that just really hampers the quality of the beer overall.

Awesome ipa on tap at howells and hood in chicago, bitter, hoppy, citrus, piney

Resinous tropical and grapefruit aromas. Hazy orange unfiltered appearance. Bitter up front, mellows out to a sweeter finish. Mainly bitter nonetheless. Medium body, seems kind of flat relative to its overall profile. Not an IPA I was thrilled with.

Too dark for an ipa. Hazy and cloudy. Didn’t like the sediments left over in the glass. 4 pack for $9. Pretty disappointed.

16oz can. Pours a very hazy golden amber qith a white head. Another below average for the style brew from Finch’s. Watery mouthfeel. Some slight pine and apricot notes, enough to make it drinkable but nothing great here.
