COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2011
On tap at Birds and Blokes in Chicago. Pours a cloudy orange colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter citruses with some piney resins and a sweeter caramel backing. Oranges, tangerines, and a bit of a grapefruit. Flavor is similar. Sweet orange and bitter grapefruit pines with some juicy tangerines. Balancing, sweeter caramel malts with a touch of bread. Finishes dry with a moderate bitterness and some juicy citrus resins. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a very tasty IPA. Easy drinking and balanced with lots of citrusy, resiny hops and a solid caramel.

Relatively average IPA. Minimal lacing. Clean bitter finish. I don't think I'll seek this out again. Not bad though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JUN 1, 2013
New to the state of Maine. Can pours a rich orange copper color with a two plus finger of sticky off white foam. Bright hop aromas of pineapple, light toasted malt and a touch of citrus. The palate follows the nose nicely with a nice creamy round mouthfeel. Soft fruit on the front to mid palate with touches of stonefruit and a grassy bitter finish...

Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Draft at Taps 25, Lansing. Hazy, dirty medium orange body, thick puffy cream head. Piny nose; also citrus rind. Sweet, citrusy body, with strong tangerine/orange notes (including pulp and rind), almost candied. Fair bitterness, just enough to balance the citrus sweetness. Solid body, well-balanced and crisp. Good IPA.

DrnkMcDermott (3130) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Draft sample: STILL have some notes from the 2011 Midwest Brewers Fest. A little darker and cloudier than the Uinta WYLD I just had. Thin, clingy head of foam. Smell shows some good Cascades, a little citrus and pine. Good citrusy hop taste to it too. Caramel malts and crystal involved in sending it down very nicely. A lot more hop in the backstop.

On tap 5 oz. sample at Whole Foods in Vienna, VA. Lightly hazy amber copper with a khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of orange, caramel and pine. Taste of grass, pine resin, floral hops, caramel, orange and a hint of tropical fruit. Medium body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
