COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

Pour out of 16 oz can, clear orange pour with white lacing head, aroma brought notes of caramel, grapefruit, pine, some slight grassy notes into a bit of spice, slight yeasty notes with a hint of slightly old hops as well. Taste was a mix of orange, grapefruit, nice lemon, hints of jam into a bit of aged hops with a hint of spice, slight yeast, finishing slightly bitter, slightly sweet.

can. pours hazy golden orange with a small white cap, some retention and nice lacing. spicy citrus, dankness, mangoes, pepper - quite juicy in fact - almost clean malts. moderate carbonation, light body - just a tad watery, slightly harsh piney-citrusy finish. good drinkability - fair ipa

Draft to taster. Looks good; a cloudy orange with sticky white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; a blend of citrus and bitter hops with nice balance and a good mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

8/11/12. GTMW. Dark orange pour with a nice khaki head. The aroma shows maltiness, caramel, and a balanced dose of smooth, citrusy hops. Balanced flavor as well with caramel and maltiness that finishes dry and smooth with some more citrusy hops. Not bad.

16 ounce can. Nice carbonated pour. Like Cut Throat, malty. Big malt presence. Some citrus. Bit of sweetness that gets a little coying. Overall, decent and drinkable for this particular take on the IPA.

Bought at Chevy Chase wine store, it’s a shithole so don’t bother, this beer is proof of that .. Cereal, caramel, leaves, & grass .. Mouth is solid, long finish .. I like finch brewing .. . . They sure like blowing horns here in DC

PorterPounder (8363) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Atlanta, GA - Taco Mac - Perimeter Center - on tap. Medium gold pour, soft snow white head with generous lacing. Aroma has some light floral accents, a brief hint of spruce. Flavor is full-bodied with some light citrus bitterness, just a touch of malty yeastiness, some caramel sweetness and light spiciness, Very "English" tasting. NIce smooth mouthfeel.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8291) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 15, 2013
Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a medium sized soapy orange-white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong floral hops - almost gritty and leafy. The flavor was bitter with a strong floral and fruity hop presence and a tangy caramel undertone. Long leafy floral and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Solid.

On tap at capones, pours cloudy bright orange with medium off white head. Aromas and taste of bitter hops, pine, strong grains, caramel, light malts. Finish had a strong citrus hop bite. Good ipa to pair with food especially spicy stuff due to the bitterness.

AirForceHops (8034) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Draft, Portsmouth Brewery’s guest tap. Has an orange / gold color with thin quickly vanishing head. Nose is floral with hints of citrus and caramel malt. Flavor is me is about average for a standard IPA. Flavor is caramel sweetness, light pine, plenty of floral hops. After the sip I get a lightly lingering grassy note to go with the floral hops. Maybe I have become jaded by huge Imperial brews because this just didn’t stand out to me at all. NOTHING wrong with it, very drinkable but it get lost in my memory of hundreds of IPA’s.
