COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

16oz can. Orange color, thick white foam. Cloudy appearance. Aroma of sticky sweet malts, caramel malts, bold resin hops , loads of citrus. Fruity flavor, very sweet malt, citrus oil hop bitterness . Very nice lacing on the glass. Very well made IPA , American style, sessionable. Lingering hop character coats the tongue. (3741)

This is not really hitting the spot for me IPA-wise. It is a nice amber color w/ a decent head but appearance is the only aspect they really got right. The aroma is subdued w/ primarily dark, piny and herbal notes. Flavor is just dominated by an aggressive earthy bitterness which is balanced by a sticky sweetness but lends to a beer that neither has a compelling flavor nor is particularly drinkable. Finch’s does better and there are way better IPA’s locally. This four pack is the last I will probably buy.

16 oz can purchased at Pinocchio?s Beer Garden in Media, Pennsylvania. The pour is a very hazy copper golden with a one inch off white head. The aroma is pine and bitter grapefruit citrus peel. Some cereal grain in the nose as well. The taste is caramel, cereal grain up front followed by the the pine and finishes with the sharp bitter grapefruit peel. The palate is medium bodied, low carbonation level and unfiltered mouth feel. Slightly sweet finish which was a bit disjointed. There was no date information on the can, and I expect this was a bit on the old side. Overall, decent IPA.

On tap at Sharp Edge Beer Emporium. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light acetone, citrus, grassy hops. Flavor is sweet with a sharp hops kick in the finish. A little sweet for an IPA. 6/4/6/4/13 (3.3/5)

can - Pours cloudy yellow with a small off-white, lingering head that laces well. The aroma is of citrus hops and a slight herbal character. The flavor has good bitterness with a little citrus and an earthy note. It’s medium bodied and overall a solid IPA.

TURDFERGUSON (4068) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Can from sam’s. pours a glowing opaque pinkish orange with a thin layer of lace on top. Nose is floral, citrus, grass, light caramel, papaya, light rye spice. Flavor is more balanced, not quite as bitter as expected, lots of fruity sweetness with some pine, lots of florals, and grassy hop notes. Almost tastes like a slightly bitter tropical juice of some kind and the carbonation is soft which suggests a juicy mouthfeel but the grass and pine bitterness still finishes things off. Interesting ipa.

Sample at Binny’s Downers Grove 4/4/12-Pours an amber body with a small head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same with a bit more malt. This medium to full bodied brew is pretty well balanced and goes down easy.
