COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

Can. Pours an orange hued amber with a soapy off-white head tha tleaves rings of whisply lacing down the glass and settles in to sporadic clumps. Quite citrusy aroma with some sweet sugary floral notes. Somewhat light bodied with a significant dry bitterness. Not bad and the lingering bitterness is pleasant but lacks a little punch of flavor that would put it over the edge.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a white head and strong aroma of pine and citrus. Taste is of hops, pine, citrus, and grapefruit with a heavy and lingering bitter finish. Nice brew.

Can: The aroma consists of caramel, fruit, and light grapefruit. It pours a hazy amber with some sediment floating around. It has a two finger orange tinged off-white head that has very good retention and leaves some nice lacing rings. The flavor starts with some sweet citrus and caramel. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and a hint of toasted notes. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, I generally donít score IPAs with caramel notes highly. I didnít really score this high, but the caramel notes in this IPA didnít bother me as much as they usually do.

Can. pours medium orange. Intense rich maltiness and Strong spicy citrusy and floral hops with some caramel malts. Flavor is similar but lends more hop and malt blended complexities. Medium full body, creamy, and moderate bitterness on the finish. Really tasty.

16 oz can. Pours a very murky golden orange with hop particles, thick off white head, and fantastic lacing. Nose is mostly caramel malt with a little piney and muted citrus hops. The hops come through more with the taste. PIneapple, citrus, pine. Real strong bitterness, borderline palate wrecker.

16 ounce can - $2.09 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a hazed, golden-amber body in hue with a tall, thickish, off-white head that collapses leaving gooey remnants along the glass walls.

Smell: Threadless smells of honey-brushed, lightly toasty grains, loaf bread with packed, blended hop notes ranging from florals, to grasses, to citrus fruits, to moist pine needles.

Taste: Moderately sweet honeyish tone amidst the toasted barley grains and bread. Then, some orange oil, grapefruit, resinous tones, plus some firm leafiness. Medium-high bitterness. All those hop flavors linger while the maltiness and sweetness quickly drops away leaving a chewy albeit bitter and dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A bit chewy and creamy, actually.

Overall: Fairly decent India Pale Ale.

Draft at Taps 25, Lansing. Hazy, dirty medium orange body, thick puffy cream head. Piny nose; also citrus rind. Sweet, citrusy body, with strong tangerine/orange notes (including pulp and rind), almost candied. Fair bitterness, just enough to balance the citrus sweetness. Solid body, well-balanced and crisp. Good IPA.

On tap sample at Flying Saucer. Pours a golden color. Aroma of hops, very strong. Hops are also evident in the taste, but more towards a floral aspect instead of pine. I think the taste moves toward a citrus note. Finishes bitter and hoppy, more than i want at the end. but overall, decent IPA. I had it out of a can, it pours nicely with a thick frothy head that laces evenly. The aroma is pungent at first with notes hops, citrus, and pine. The taste is very hoppy, again with notes of citrus and pine. Good IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
