This really nice IPA poured a cloudy copper color with virtually no head. The nose was well-balanced and inviting, with notes of sweet malt, grassy hops, lemon, grapefruit and a slight touch of wheat. The body was very smooth and drinkable and featured plenty of hops. The flavors are balanced very nicely with some caramel malt and wheat. Besides the floral and grassy hops, I tasted some lemon, grapefruit and pine. The beer finished dry, mellow and creamy. First off -- this is the kind of ipa that we crave & fight & pull our hair over about in Canada. Solid, sessionable & tasty. Pours deep orange with a nice fluffy cap. Aroma is rich with pine. Tastes great: hoppy, juicy & slightly citrus. If I could get this easily it’d be my regular. Luckily I got four of ’em before i hopped the border. Mail some to me & I won’t return to sender. obguthr (6344) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Can: Orange peel and pine nose with a kiss of clover honey. Shimmering amber, thick firm pale yellow head. Pleasantly bitter pine needle flavor, grapefruit finish. Alcohol not noticeable, thinnish mouthfeel. Nice transitions, drinkable. Nicely done. coyforce (684) - California, USA - MAY 16, 2014
Ok IPA. Great aroma and beautiful amber pour with a nice white head. Flavor is hoppy and aftertaste is a bit too bitter and alcoholic. Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - OCT 12, 2014
Right out of a very cool can in Chicago. Taste is bitter citrus, dough, hops and grain. Excellent IPA.

Draft on tap at Tribes Alehouse (Mokena, IL). Saw it on tap and stopped by for one after doing some cellar stuff. Nice. Pours a well hazed orange amber hue, healthy darker glow with a nice strong hazy murk, a bigger offwhite almost eggshell white creamy cakey head, dies to a firm layer, laces pretty well and sticks around as a firm layer. Aromas are a plethora of citrusy lemon and orange, florals and a nice blast of Sorachi Ace on the nose, lemon and lively, moving into grass, a touch of spice and picking up sweeter and toasty malts, biscuits. Some soap, with a vibrant lemony hop appeal and floral staying on, but the malt is still there. Initial is medium bodied, preaching a healthy bite of lemon and florals, strong bitterness as some pine works in, dry florals up front, almost a sharp bitterness as it fades into some soap, creamier malt body shows bread, toast, and biscuits, staying away from bigger sweet malts as that hop bite is potent up front, sharp lemon, pine, florals, and grass. Pretty dry but with a lighter malt body that keeps the hops vibrant. Lacing stays like a wall, coating the glass. Some oranges work their way into the middle, pairing with the malty touches, sustained hops. Finish is citrusy lemon, rind, and dry florals and grass, touches of resinous and dry pine stick to the backend, with some lemon cookies, more grass, touches of bready malts, but the hops override this beer. I wouldn’t say it’s the most complex hop profile, but it is potent. I like this more than the Cut Throat, I can see others liking it more as well. Pretty good, but lacks true complexity to push it up into the upper echelon. Nice beer here by Finch. IanIPA (20) - Tinley Park, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2011
Had on tap at Tribes Ale House. Good size head, about an inch, with almost copper color. Kind of hazy with good lacing. Aroma is citrus. Good bitterness and good aftertaste with caramel notes. Overall a good IPA and a good IPA for those who want to drink local in Chicago-land

On tap at the GTMW 2011. Hazy amber with a thin tan head and a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of stinky, sticky resinous hops with some citrus and caramel beneath. Taste of resinous west-coasty hops, toasted pale malt, mild caramel and citrus. Full bodied brew finishes up nice and bitter and is pretty tasty. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Pours a darkish amber color with a small head. Big hoppy citrus nose with some caramel malt. Also getting some pine. Taste has a solid bitterness and a nice taste. Lots of orange citrus. Nice lasting finish that is refreshing. A really good ipa.
