Lightly hazed, light golden liquid with a moderate, off-white head. Aromas of grass, hay, straw, mild lemon citrus, wheat and some light fruit. Pale malt and grain sweetness in the front. A lightly toasted multi-grain bread addition in the middle. Some woody flavors also creep in. Quite crisp in the finish. Just a light bitter bite and touch of acidity. This is a brew that begs to be imbibed while eating a grilled sandwich, actually now that I think about just about any sandwich would do. BLT anyone? 4/12

Bottle. Lemon/orange malt aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Lightly sweet orange/lemon and light malt flavor. Mild citrus hops finish. A nice beer - a hoppier version of Koelsch. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Bomber at Milwaukee Brewfest. Poured medium golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up sweet honey and bready malts with odd, dank accents.. slightly toasted.. just OK. The flavor found toasted bread and pale malts at the core, with light earth, lemon, and herbal bitterness around.. quick finish. Lighter-bodied and grainy on the palate with low bitterness.. OK feel and flow. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Cloudy golden pour with a hint of orange and a very small head. Aroma has a strong orange note with some light notes of pear, lots of pils malt with some toasted notes akin to an American wheat ale. Flavor has some orange, some mild bitter apple flavors and a light grainy presence. Body is light with a sweet, slightly oily feeling. Overall a bit too sweet for a typically cleaner Kolsch style. An okay brew but felt more like a light, fruity pale ale in my opinion, a bit too much residual sugar in the body. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 24, 2012
Draft at GTMW 12. Pours a pretty deep gold with a frothy white head. The nose is odd. Fruity with apple esters, rose and then a citrusy thing. Toasty malt in the backend but the hops and esters are strange. On tasting, medium bodied and full malt flavor. Moderate bitterness but the fruity esters are somewhat off putting. I don’t really get it, the yeast seems to be doing whatever it wants.

Slightly hazy amber with thin white head and soft carbonation. A very delicate, sweet aroma of pear and caramel malt with some light floral hopping. Flavor is a nice fruity malt backbone with faint, tart apple notes that gives way to a moderate grapefruit/floral bitterness. Bitterness very refined, non-pungent, and does not dominate the finish. Plays well with malt. Light saltiness. Lightly dry finish with some lingering hops and tart apple. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 23, 2012
Hazy orange-gold with good, creamy, white head / Light nose of lemon and herb / Light to medium body, dry and hoppy, but with good fruit balance and bitter finish / Stylish flavors of lemon, resin, dried sage & basil, orange, and cream / A terrific kolsch, with some oomph to it. rubbishystuff (2537) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2016 Interesting beer. Cloudy orange/yellow/amber. Smooth with a lot of malt. The toastedness if very subtle. Some honey flavors. Serving: Bottle JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Pours amber with light fruit notes that fall into a lightly bitter hopped beer with a dense malt backbone. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - JUN 8, 2012
22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Pours a mostly clear, golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is florals with lots of pear and a bit of a dry wood. Definitely some apples, a touch of grass, a bit of a citrus note, and a light pale malt. Flavor is more pear up front with some florals and a touch of citrus. A light pale malt backing with a hint of bread showing up in the middle with a light apple note. Gets a bit earthy with a light grass from the hops towards the end as some toastiness comes out as well. Finishes pretty dry from the hops and light toast, but a tad bit sweet from the florals and light malts. Lengthy aftertaste following a light-medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid, refreshing beer. I would have liked it to be just a touch more crisp, but it has some nice things going on. Lots of pear, a lightly sweetened pale malt backing, some citrus notes, apples, a light toast, and a dry hopping that balances this pretty well. Nice one.
