COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Honey Meadow cider is our SPRING release, featuring Finnriver’s bright base of fermented organic apples, backsweetened with Olympic Peninsula honey and infused with local lemon balm and chamomile. With thanks to Denise at Mountain Spirit Herbal Company and Tinker Cavallero, local gardener extraordinaire, for finding us just the right herbs for this blend. Drinking this might make you feel like a happy honeybee after a great green day among the blossoms...

Finnriver, Chimacum. Light hazed yellow. Thin foam. Light, grassy and sweet. A touch of rich apple. Quite tasty.

Fragrant cider, with apples, honey, and tea like character. Still drinks very light, which is nice as a summer seasonal. Good combo of ingredients. Lightly sweet, aromatic and ever so slightly tart and dry.

Tasting at Matt’s
Pale yellow color. Nice delicate aroma of flowers and orange peel. Semi-dry, moderately carbonated; simple flavor, with a hint of elderflowers, and light acidity.
Simple.

Bottle marked as batch 413B (or 4/3B). Pours with a clear honey hued body with carbonation but minimal head formation. Aromas are aromas are floral and a bit earthy, woody, soil, somewhat vegital. Flavors are medium sweet with some backing acid, floral and earthy spicing continues. Chamomile notes are faint, lemon balm is strong. Medium-lively carbonation. Some tannin in the finish.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out an interesting mix of honey, dry red apples, and fresh meadowy notes. Flavour is crisp and lightly sweet, with crisp red apples and just a touch of honey to make things more interesting. Really cohesive and well-integrated. Excellent.

Bottle - Apple, honey and some herbal notes. Clear gold. Tastes as it smells, semi sweet, nice honey and flowery herbal notes.

500, capped. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with very scant film on top, fading quickly. Interesting twisty nose, gets you with apple skins, gets you with lemony tart tang, gets you with soft floral notes and spicy notes. Elusive. Doesn’t always smell exactly the same, somehow, especially when you try to smell into the individual notes. Very natural, very present, very dimensional. Has a very faint little bit of dry cool hayloft in there but it could be voodoo, for all the luck I had teasing this apart. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Comes on with floral, green apple, and lemon notes, but there’s no brace or pucker or bite of any kind. Just crisp and light and refreshing at the finish. Great combination of apples and floral notes across the mid-palate. Definitely worth repeats. Quite a cider.

Bottle. My wife brought this one back from the cidery a couple of months back.

Pale pour, almost no head. Aroma of apples and chamomile, with a slight funk to it that is absolutely fascinating and leaves me eager to try the first sip. That first sip is no let-down: reasonably sweet but it fits here, complex with honey and light herb and again a funky thing that I really like. Yet totally quaffable. Limited carbonation. My half of the bottle disappears like no one’s business and now I need to try to convince my wife to open another. One of the nicer ciders I’ve ever had.

Very pale gold, light white head / Delicate nose of resin, orchard fruit / Medium body, sweet with some bitter apple skin, good balance and finish / Flavors of honey, red apple, some light rotting apple, resin, grass / Another nice one from Finn.
