Ice tea color pour with some head and a little lacing. Has the burnt caramel flavor in the malt and some hop bitterness. PotjeBier (3632) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2014
From backlog (2007). On tap @ Leucadia Pizza, Encinitas. Clear amber to red color. Aroma and flavor were rather light, slight hoppiness, grains/malts. Was advertised as having "no after taste" which is always a bad thing of course. There was an aftertaste, but not much. Mediocre. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 24, 2013
Bottle:   Hazy amber, a bit of dirty caramel in there, moderate sudsy white head, sparce lacing.   Pale hops on the nose, some toasty or caramel like malts as well.   A little fruity on the tongue, hops are subdued,
malts seem more prominant.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Mild to no hops on the finish.   Extra Extra Pale Ale maybe?   Not bad, but on the lighter side in terms of hops.   Nice malt base tho, somewhat sweet
and caramel like, maybe even a little nutty/toasty. chris2431 (241) - Oregon, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Wawa......average. No wonder they went out of business. Not a bad beer just not inspiring. Maybe I just have a bad taste in my mouth for all the fireman who put money into this brewery and got screwed. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Murky caramel with a receding tan topper. Aroma is mostly caramel with a touch of grains and fruit. Taste is straight forward mediocre with caramel, mild hops, no real bitterness and not much else going on here. While listed as an APA, this thing is more amber with sweeter malt and no real hop presence.

Tasted 4/30/11. 12oz bottle. Pours hazy with an amber orange hue. Spotty, moldy off-white head. Aromas of tootsie rolls and mild chocolate? Very malt driven olfactory with subtle fruity notes of apples, pears and grapes followed by a honey-ish nuance. Odd nose...Medium bodied with, once again, a malt dominant palate. Decent effervescence that cuts through the sweet malty character. The hops are mild, at best and offer little to the overall palate. The Cascade shines just enough in the finish to know that it exists, but offers little to the palate or overall flavor. Decently dry finish, but the lingering malty stickiness takes away from the hops. I wouldn’t call this an APA by any stretch. kassner (1686) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Bottle, very slightly cloudy, dirty golden little head or lacing and actually hardly any hops, more malt as in a more balance style.Dry finish though tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 1, 2010
Pours a bright and crystal clear copper color. God I hate alliteration, and pale ales that get poured darker than orange.
Nose is.... boring, just cereal grain, flaked corn, and that’s it. That actual glass had as much aroma.
Taste was also bland and boring, some light hop bitterness, grainy, no hop flavor, no flavor from a grain profile, just light bitterness with show sole. iamqueensblvd (247) - , Iowa, USA - OCT 19, 2009
hoppy floral nose. amber pour with a nice foamy off white head. sweet caramel taste that lingers nicely on the palate. smooth mouthfeel. underrated beer in my opinion. BigBeer45 (1557) - Michigan, USA - SEP 28, 2009
12 oz. bottle, produced a clear copper-amber pour with a white and off-white bubbled head, some effervescence, left a little lacing on the glass, aromas of caramel, toasted malt and a faint vegetable fragrance? Smelled like cooked peas in the background, and some grass hop aroma, flavors of toasted malt and some caramel with a little hop bitterness on the palate, a bit of off-ness in taste after the finish to, mouth feel is about medium with a little over carbonation, this beer would have had a better rating if it were not for the peas aroma and off flavor.
