12 oz bottle, deep gold color, small white head that fades quickly, not much aroma, some pale malt and a little fruitiness, tastes pretty smooth with some nice hop bitterness but lacks the aromatic and flavoring hops I expect from a pale ale. Drinkable but pretty forgettable. StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - JUN 23, 2007
12 oz bottle. Pours a brownish-copper with a nice foamy off-white head with plenty of lace. A light aroma that is a bit like the smell of dirt at first rain. Taste moderate bitter hops, a bit of yeast, and some more of that earthiness. Very agreeable mouthfeel. Finish is clean but a bit short. A nice everyday Pale Ale. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - JUN 19, 2007
On tap @ Coasters (Mission Beach) - Pours a clear reddish-copper color with a thin off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is light caramel malt and hops. Flavor is light toasted malt and hops. Nice balance. Light to medium body. A decent beer. brettpace (176) - New York City, New York, USA - MAY 18, 2007
This is an average Pale Ale. I thought the water had a funny taste, almost stale. Better than most, but could be more. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - MAR 4, 2007
Sampled in La Jolla. A nice IPA but nothing special. Taste is nice but leaves a lot to be desired. After taste is very stale. Aroma and appearance are nice and clear.

Some sweet aroma. Hardly any noticable hops. Beer is rather dark for an APA with a redder color than most in the style. There really was not much going on here though. Some initial sweetness. Very little hoppiness to go around. Rather wattery. A very average beer. Sammy (12590) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 10, 2007
Supporting the 9/11 firemen, on-tap at Oggi’s at Carmel Country Road. Neutral aroma. Light amber with whisp of a head and lace. Malty carmel. Too carbonated, water in there. A bit of off-bitterness and metallic. StacyB (1) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 15, 2007 does not count
Great amber color and good body! Over all the best Pale Ale I have ever had! Whoever thinks they over carbonate doesn’t know anything about good beer, kudos to Firehouse! lovelyinpink (1) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 15, 2007 does not count
This is by far the best beer ever! Whoever, chose to rate this beer and had anything bad to say about it...is obviously jealous of it’s FIREMEN! mjg74 (3156) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 9, 2006
UPDATED: APR 14, 2007 Tap, San Diego Brewing. Pours a dark amber color. Slightly sweet caramel aroma. Very off cardboard flavors. Slight hop and some malt. Not too impressed. I love the ratings above me.
