3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a hazy dark gold color. Nose was a little weak in regards to hopping. Tasted quite a bit better. Nice level of spiciness from the rye, decent hop flavor in the front, finishing with the kick of rye was pretty nice. For a $5 bomber, not much to complain about.
Draft at the brewpub. Orange-amber. Beige head. Mid-plus lacing. Heavy rye/spice with some decent hop bitterness, and some slightly off flavors coming through on the finish, reminiscent of diacetyl. Okay feel. Okay overall, but not really working for me. PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2015
Santa Clara, Ca - Santa Clara Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Dark orange pour, frothy snow white head, plenty of lacing. Aroma has some spruce notes, some rye mintiness. Bold flavor with a strong citrus bitter backbone, some minty rye notes, a touch of caramel sweetness. Solidly thick mouthfeel. Excellent, especially considering the price of $4.99. madchemist83 (272) - USA - MAY 25, 2015
Caramel, rye, pine, roasted malt in the aroma. Hazy amber pour with off white head. Not much Amarillo and Citra in the aroma. Hop aromas covered by massive maltiness. Nice and smooth rye IPA. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 26, 2014

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with paperthin off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong hemp, rye, pine. Medium mouthfeel with nice resin hop, light rye, and spicy malt finish. decent SDalkoholic (2408) - Linda Vista, California, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Bottle from BevMo: Poured a dense golden honey color that was paired with a fluffy pillow of head. In the aroma, my nose is able to sniff out the hops while I’m only able to smell a faint scent of grains attributable to the rye. However, the flavor brings out the rye while also giving a taste of whole grains and a zesty spice of anise seed. As for the hops, they share the spotlight and give off a bitter taste that is both oily and citric. This is certainly one of the smoother rye beer recipes I’ve come across. A really nice amber color. It has a hop aroma but isn't has fruity as normal. It has a mildly bitter and smoky flavor.

22oz bottle. Pours a hazy orangish brown with a white head. Mild bitterness, citrus, rye, caramel. Not bad but not something I would buy again.
