Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and berries, the roasted malt lends it a slight acidic edge. Thanks Steve. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 5, 2009

On tap at Beer Revolution. Pours copper with a decent beige head and a sweet fruity aroma. There is a robust sweet caramel malt flavor with a bitter finish. Very tasty. Ibrew2or3 (8913) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 22, 2009
Sampled at Toronado 2009 Barleywine Festival.
Pours a perfect copper color with a bit of haze and long lasting tan head. The aroma starts with sugary malts and becoming sort of cherry like to go along with light amounts of prune and raisin. Kind of an average aroma for the style. The taste consists of the same notes as the nose with sweet maltiness, some cherry, fig, prune and raisin. It then picks up a bit of chemical alcohol notes midway. After more sips that seemingly off note sort of vanished. The taste has grown on me as I near the end of the beer. Toward the finish a bit of malt astringency adds a tad bit more balance to the beer. Overall it seems a bit on the rough side. Maybe some age will do it wonders. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 14, 2010
On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours dark amber orange with an orangy head. The aroma is very sweet and candy like with lots of caramel and toffee. The flavor is pretty much the same with lots of sweet buttery caramel. Nice full mouthfeel and a good bitter finish to balance it out slightly. The alcohol is felt as strong on this one. A little sweet for my taste, but very quaffable. mrhoppy (1196) - Santa Clara, California, USA - MAR 10, 2009
Oh my goodness. On tap last night Palo Alto Location. Not an over the top barley wine but so good and so drinkable. This guy Steve knows what he is doing. Quality and fresh clean complex beer. I’m not going to get into all the details. This is damn good beer and the food is awesome. All his beers are great. If you are a double IPA freak like me. Get a pint of half pale and half barley wine. You can thank me later.
