Our One Tun Imperial Stout (OTIS) has complex, layered aromas of coffee and dark chocolate, with an earthy hoppiness. Flavors of dark chocolate and roast lead to a pleasing bitterness. Serve at 45-50*F and enjoy!

On tap @ Firehouse. Black in color with a khaki head. Did these guys actually make a good beer? Holy smokes. A lot of graham cracker, roasted malt, and cocoa powder. A little bit of bitterness and smoke, maybe. Sweet dark fruit notes such as raisin and plum. Lots of molasses, spicy coffee, and roasted malts. Maybe some creme brûlée/burnt sugar character to it as well. Not half bad.

Bottle. Black beer with a brown head. Chocolate and light roast aroma with light coffee. Toffee and light chocolate flavor with light coffee. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and chocolate lingers with light coffee and light roast.

Great. Aromas of liquorice, chocolate, vanilla. Long taste, alcohol noticeable.

Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose is chocolate and coffee, light on the roastiness. Black with a medium, lightly lacing, cinnamon tan head. Flavor is slightly sweet and smoky, chocolate, and a smaller bit of bitterness.

Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, mostly dissipates fairly quickly with decent remaining lacing. Very chocolatey aroma, more of a sweet milk chocolate, molasses, maple syrup, some coffee. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and light plus bitter, roasty malts, chocolate, coffee. Some light acidity. Medium body and just a bit creamy. Pretty solid effort. Not going to win any medals, but not bad for a $6 bomber.

This is a nice local beer for Santa Clara county. Santa Clara Valley Brewing Brewmaster/Owner Steve Donahue created this recipe when he was the brewmaster for for Firehouse Tavern, a local sports bar. This beer has some hoppiness to it and coming in at 10% abv makes this a nice imperial stout with complex malt billing that gives it coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate goodness! Recommend this to my friends.

Goodgrief (2088) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Poured dark brown, small fizzy head. Boozy sweet aroma. Loud, clangy composite of flavors. Chocolate was predominant with some light coffee notes and a strong fruity Belgian presence. Just not great.

Super dark pour, brown head. Roasty bitterness, tangy flavors, plums, hints of cocoa. Meh.

Poured a thin layer of tan head on a black body. The aroma is nice: roasted malt, chocolate and bread dough (interestingly enough). The taste has a bold roasted malt profile with a sharp bitter injection in the middle. The finish has a sour note. The texture is thick with moderate carbonation. The flavor profile is abrupt. Drinkable but not great.

22 oz. bottle from Bevmo. It pours very black with a tan head. The aroma is very nice with big coffee, chocolate, caramel, pralines and vanilla. The flavor is sweet up front with coffee and caramel followed by a spicy malt and hop bouquet. Lots of roasted malt and coffee in the finish. Really tasty stuff
