First time having this, one of the better Dopplebocks I've had in a long time, drinks more like a stout, heavy malt and easy chocolate back taste. Would definitely purchase again.

January 2017 - Bottle share at Leighton’s. Thanks Leighton! As ’Firemans Brew Brunette’. Dark brown with a red hue, foamy light brown head, thin lacing. Aroma is varnish, dates, jaggery. Body is light, tingly carbonation, smooth. Taste is sugary, varnish, spicy and oxidised with some raisin. Just OK. (2.9) teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - JAN 23, 2017
33cl bottle shared at Leighton’s. Thanks to the host himself. It pours a clean dark amber ruby almost brown color with a minimal off white head. Aroma is malty biscuity and bollocksed. Taste is also sweet and malty, with more biscuit and bollocks. Medium bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, meh Leighton (21235) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2017
Bottle at home in London - sourced from Beermerchants or something. Pours clear red-brown with a slim, creamy topping. The aroma has ripe berries, toffee, hearty bread, impressions of fruitcake. Medium sweet flavour with lots more ripe berry character, toasted sugars, brown bread, minimal bitterness. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Finishes with more toasted sugars, brown bread, ripe berries, moderate toffee. Pretty smooth overall. Enjoyable.

Bottle poured into a snifter. The beer is a darker brown with a beige head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is sweet and has notes of raisin and nuts. Sweet and a bit boozy in the taste. Thicker mouthfeel and low carbonation. dfinney23 (3269) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2016
Dark pour with a standard-looking beige head. Aroma is sweet and chocolaty. Nothing wrong with the taste but the chocolate / toasty notes are closer to cheap Halloween candy and toasted white bread and than Valrhona and, uh, some exceptional toasted item. Hides the abv exceptionally well. bytemesis (8375) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Bottle. Pours hazy reddish chestnut, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is nutty, malty, dark breads, molasses, light smoke. Flavor is medium sweet, roasty, nutty, light smoke. Medium body, light acidity. HippieFee (446) - - OCT 27, 2015
Draft - Rich brown color. Dry malty flavor but for the most part the beer is nondeScript. Not a bad beer but nothing that blows my doors off.
