Bottle. Pours with a mahogany body and a large tan head. Aroma of tobacco, toffee, caramel, coffee, alcohol, soot, and candy corn. Fudge, corn syrup. Taste is sweet, tobacco, ash, molasses, candy corn. Lively bubbles, some alcohol, pretty slick. Not horrible, but not great. The best product brewed at Indian Well’s facility...ever.

Contract brewed for Firemans Brew. Sampled on 7/25/2010. This dopplebock pours a deep black brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized quickly dissipating white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity, chocolate and a touch of tobacco. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are caramel and semi sweet. Hints of chocolate and tobacco as well. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. One would expect a dopplebock to be a touch sweeter. Touch of alcohol at the finish. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and a little dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a hint of alcohol.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a black appearance with a creamy tan head with a dissipating head. Big roasty, nutty, a touch woody, caramel malty, cola, a touch burnt aroma. Somewhat sugary, burnt toffee, caramel, cookie, nutty, cola flavor. Not bad.

Has a 1/2" head when poured from a bottle. Seeing yeast particles float up maybe it a bit less appetizing. Smells malty and chocolaty. Heavy bodied and moderately creamy; fizzy. Slight sour after taste.

Pretty much opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, light fine carbonation. Mild dark malts. Little fruity rang, almost coca cola. Pinch of cocoa powder. Whispers of roast and coffee. Light semi dry finish. A tidy and flavoursome brown.

Bottle poured into a snifter. The beer is a darker brown with a beige head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is sweet and has notes of raisin and nuts. Sweet and a bit boozy in the taste. Thicker mouthfeel and low carbonation.
