West Side Beavo is a one-off collaboration by brewmasters Logan Plant and Matt Brynildson, inspired by a friendship forged at the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest. “Logan has been to the fest several times, and we’ve been talking about doing a collaboration for a few years now,” said Brynildson, Firestone Walker’s brewmaster. “We’ve both been itching to do our own IPLs, so we thought it would be a perfect style to explore together.”

Can->Ocelot IPA glass. Brite lite gold with bare eggshell head. Ugh. A: mild, with corn, grains, yeast. T: more grains and corn. Eh, like a sophisticated Lion's Head.

dorain (519) - Berlin, GERMANY - OCT 21, 2017

Fisler (656) - Bamberg, GERMANY - OCT 15, 2017
Optisch Pale Lager, aber stabiler Schaum. In der Nase sehr grasig, grünhopfig. Im Trunk ebenso, dabei aber schön malzig, leicht bitter, mittig süßer werdend, fruchtig, hinten wieder bitter. Lecker Ding, schön komponiert, erfrischend und charakterstark.

flying_pig (1627) - SCOTLAND - OCT 10, 2017
355ml Can from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£3.70):
Quite a light and clean beer with touches of citrus and some floral hops as well but it was definitely basic and not as full-bodied as I'd have liked either. The beer seemed thin at point but it was at least easy to drink without it impressing at any point sadly.
