As a finished beer, 14 is brimming with amazing flavors and textures. DDBA leads the blend lending American toasted oak, English caramel toffee and light leather nuances. Newcomer, Sticky Monkey, folds in the taste of brown sugar, molasses, cinnamon, ginger and ripe figs. Parabola brings the familiar flavors of bitter dark chocolate and cherry pit. Velvet Merkin carries silky bourbon soaked chocolate cake goodness to the party while a touch of Black Xantus teases coffee and tobacco. Last, but not least, Good Foot brings the hops... hints of citrus zest and tangerine, which adds a pop to the aroma and nice finish to this big, sexy brew. 14 is best enjoyed in a half filled brandy snifter or wine glass. Allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the pleasing and complex aromas. If left in a cool dark place, I suspect this beer will age well. It was an absolute pleasure making it and I truly hope you enjoy our fifth oakaged blend! The journey continues.

Served from a 22 oz bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep mahogany brown hue with a nice soapy light brown head. The nose is full of brown sugary, light molasses, dark chocolate, nice oak notes, aged hops, butterscotch, all sorts of fantastic stuff. The flavors enter with tones of butterscotch and caramel, aged hops take the middle with some tangerine and grapefruits. Butterscotch and caramelized light molasses follow on the finish with a bittering oak ting in the aftertaste. There is a little kumquat and grapefruit over caramel and butterscotch for a while but that bitterness fades some. Lots of barrel characteristics with the Brandy and raw/Union Barrels being the must inflectional at this point. The mouth is a little bitter at times and a little stingy from oak and could use some melding and smoothness. The body of the Parabola just doesnt come through as much as I expected. Lots of barrel characteristics. Overall I think this year should of been enjoyed a little fresher even though there is still a ton to offer. Great beer and I love this anniversary line. I wish the price was $8-$10 cheaper but I will still buy them until they really disappoint.

Six years in, and this bear is beautiful. Deep dark pour, still abundant but not aggressive carbonation. Massive complexity, tons of plum, tobacco, lots of wood. A bit a booze but not heavily so. Drinking this in one sitting was an excessively decadent delight. I need to buy these every year, price be damned.

Bourbon Aged? YEPP!!! So kann also Bier schmecken!!!

Bottle shared at RBWG 16: Poured a brown with a off white head. Aroma is boozy malts. Taste is boozy malty some oak, but that booze smashes it.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a medium size dark brown foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of bourbon and wood with some deep caramelized malt with some residual sugar notes is pretty nice. Taste is also a good mix of wood notes with some bourbon and light vanilla notes with some caramelized malt and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Nice beer thought perhaps not the best from this series.

Bottle shared as part of a 14-19 vertical tasting. The first in the series surprised everyone by how well it held up. Even 6 years later, theres very little evidence of any oxidization, and the flavors have clearly mellowed and evolved. Strong, chewy chocolate dominated the flavor, although there was a good amount of oak, booze, and coffee flavor as well. Just enough sweetness to round out and compliment the chocolate. Outrageously good and extremely complex.

22 Oz bottle pour at Brouwers. From the box, very fun experience. Near black pour with a quick fade head. Soft chocolate and caramel aroma. Thick body, super smooth flavor. Chocolate heavy, with vanilla, and a soft toasty finish. Amazing how smooth and settled down this is. Fun try. Fantastic beer.

Not sure why I let this sit for so long - 5 or 6 years? Thanks to some great RB for trading this to me. - WOW! Nose may be the only thing outstanding - not a ton there; but taste is sublime - roasted sugars, plenty of malts; some dried fruit, caramel. mouthfeel is perfect; not thick. on second glass - is becoming a little cloying but WOW>

From bottle at BKL Mnchen 2016.
Dark brown body, with a tiny head.
Dense, comomex aroma of barrel, bourbon, chocolate, molasses, coffee, liquorice, caramel, cocoa.
Delicious, complex taste of cocoa, melting dark chocolate, bourbon, caramel, barrel, coffee, vanilla, dark fruits, booze.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium dry, medium boozy, astringent, roasty, medium sweet, with wood, cocoa, coffee, liquorice, bitter chocolate

Delicious! Very complex and dense, but still not too overwhelming, greatly balanced, with layers of smooth dark malts and barrel notes. Alcohol is there of course, but not too overpowering and providing a comfortable warmth. My favourite beer Ive had from the Anniversary range so far.
