Bottle. Nice khaki head covering a rich dark chocolate hue with some tan highlights. Woody, bourbon, chocolate, tobacco, roast, and some savory qualities in the aroma. Flavor is quite savory, nice bourbon, oak, toast, leather and a roasty dry finish. Warming, but not hot. Lighter to medium body that’s a bit low on carbonation and a bit velvety. Deep brown chestnut pour with a thin creamy khaki/beige head ... aroma of dark fruits, some booze, light nutty, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla, caramel malts and some oak .... talk about complexity .... tastes of dry oak, caramel malts, nutty, light vanilla, bourbon, dark fruits/brandy qualities, light chocolate, some of the taquila comes in giving it a "spirity" feel ... mouthfeel is so soft and smooth .... abv hidden well .... just unreal how all of these flavors come in VernonBaxter (4) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 29, 2013 does not count
Lots of vanilla, bourbon and wood on the initial nose, slight chocolate. Taste is the same, slight heat on the back of the throat. Very good brew

From notes: Poured deep nutty brown, with a slight haze and a small, thin light tan head. Woody aroma with notes of butter and leather. Body is full and slightly oily. Light boozy astringency in the finish that would likely mellow further with aging. Flavor is woody with notes of leather and buttery toffee. Mild booziness at the back and a note of stone fruit that shows underneath as it warms. Wordsworth (147) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Bottle poured into snifter. Pours a dark caramel brown with a pencil thin khaki head that dissipates into an outer ring. No lacing. Aroma is molasses, caramel, vanilla, and a boozy sweetness. Flavor is all of those smells in a beautiful palate that is complex and delicious. This is a unique and great beer and I may cellar one.
