Cask by handpump at Camperdown Place, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin creamy head, pine, grapefruit, citrusy aroma, excellent lacing, flavour as aroma, bit of tropical fruit, well hopped, prolonged dry citrus finish jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Cask @ Hamilton Hall JDW. Light amber pour with a tiny head. The nose is bright west coast hops. Loads of lemon meat, orange peel, earthy coniferous bitterness. Nice and lively. The taste is fresh, vibrant. More lemon and orange. Slightly chalky. Probably the hoppiest JDW beer ever. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, I can’t get over how good this JDW-commissioned beer is. Pretty tasty. stravale (3065) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - JUL 3, 2013
Cask @ JDW Inverness
SarkyNorthener (4614) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2013
Amber, slight haze, dense white head, some lacing
Aroma - Big fruity hop aroma, tropical fruits, mango, citrus sweet fruits
Taste of tropical fruits, zesty citrus, grapefruit pith, sweet fruity pale malts, stinging resinous hops, touch of peppery spicyness, soft fruity caramel malt, great moreish flavour
Palate - Medium body, pithy fruity bitter palate, sweet malt background. Finish - pithy grapefruit bitterness, hoppy bitter linger with a clean finish.
Overall - So drinkable and moreish - after the excellent Adnams / Avery collab with the 3.5 - this is even better. One of the best beers in Spoons i’ve had in a long while
