(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Bombe vanillé qui manque malheureusement de complexité. j12601 (12673) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Pouring at the Saturday sessions of Extreme Beerfest. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a thin beige head. Big bourbon, wood, roast. Medium bodied, chocolate, cocoa, plums. Sweet warm bourbon, cocoa, chocolate. Vanilla and oxidized prune. Long sweet prune caramel. Light warmth, tastes like warm bourbon brownies. johnnnniee (4346) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 22, 2013
On tap at EBF 3/16/13.
Lots of bourbon on the nose with faint stout underneath. The flavor is lightly roasty with plenty of bourbon presence. They bill this as dry stout at 8.5% and then barrel age it for 3 years. I think it needs more body or more sweetness. I don’t know, it just didn’t impress me.

On tap. Pours with a massive deep brown head over a black body. Aromas are roasty, nutty, barrel, mildly fruity, cotton candy, vanilla, marshmallow, slightly musty and layered vanillin, grass, oak, molasses, coconut, sweet chocolate, light leather. Insanely complex. Flavors are a touch musty, woody, very nutty, cola, light pepper, maple and marshmallow. Creamy carbonation and medium bodied. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Black pour with a tan head. Nice bourbon and vanilla notes, lots of coconut, and roasted malt. Some dark fruits, charred oak, licorice, and light sweetness. There is a strong bourbon flavor to this, nice coconut, vanilla, and plenty of roast. Hints of coffee, licorice, charred oak, and molasses. Mild sweetness, which seems to be mostly from the barrel/bourbon. Bacterial (3005) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Yum! This is so smooth, sweet, dry and boozy all at the same time. Very light carbonation helps make the mouthfeel very soft and velvety. Just a hint of bourbon in the finish.
