West Side Beavo is a one-off collaboration by brewmasters Logan Plant and Matt Brynildson, inspired by a friendship forged at the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest. “Logan has been to the fest several times, and we’ve been talking about doing a collaboration for a few years now,” said Brynildson, Firestone Walker’s brewmaster. “We’ve both been itching to do our own IPLs, so we thought it would be a perfect style to explore together.”

Aye, decent enough. Interesting. Great for the style but both breweries do far superior drops

Can. Very pale orange with a white head. Aroma of mandarins, slight bubblegum, caramel syrup, crackers. But it works a little better upon a sip - there's firm, clean malt with citrus and floral notes followed by a long, drying and gently bitter finish. The quality lager thing of seeming rich yet still light is there, but it _is_ 6.5%. None of the dodgy things a very pale beer of this strength often features. Enjoyed it more after a disappointing first sniff.

Can from Sterk Amsterdam. Aroma is floral hops, pale malt, rather perfumed and soapy, touch of pine, citrus. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium. Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed, it's way too perfumed for my taste. Guess I'm in the minority...

12oz can picked up at De Bierkoning, and enjoyed in a snifter on 28-Jan-2018. Clear pale amber colour with a medium sized white head which dissipated quickly. Aroma of grain, citrus and pine. Light body and medium carbonation. Taste of pale crystal malt, lemon, grapefruit and hops. Medium bitterness with a dry floral fruity finish.

12.5fl oz can. Aroma was mandarin/tangerines/fruity and very hoppy. Poured light, golden and hazy with a nice tight head that hung around while I drank it. The mouthfeel was kind of soft and creamy but lively too. The taste was nice and bitter with on the tip of the tongue, very hoppy with a dry finish. Wish I'd bought more of these, a properly refreshing beer..
