COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thirty miles north of Barrelworks lies the fertile Santa Maria Valley. Its warm days and cool marine layer-fed evenings allow for a cornucopia of fruits and vegetables to be grown in its rich soil. One of Santa Maria’s crown jewels is locally grown raspberries. We jumped at the opportunity to ferment fresh local raspberries with one of our Barrelworks creations. Behold Bretta Rosé! A low-alcohol Berliner Weisse style ale, acidified and matured in French oak puncheons for 6 months, is the foundation for this gem. Add 1000 lbs. of fresh raspberries, allow a secondary wild fermentation for 4 more months and voila (!), we have a crisp effervescent concoction, bursting with raspberry perfume and flavor, a rosé color, bracing acidity, and a clean and refreshing finish.

On tap at Firestone Walker The Propagator, Venice. A 9 oz pour into a Firestone Barrelworks teku glass. It was a nice looking candy cherry red colour with minimal white head, but nice lacing. Aroma was a very nice Lifesaver candy cherry and raspberries. Tastes similar to the aroma with lots of cherry and raspberries. It is also lightly sour and tart with only hints of oak and funk. Crisp, light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, just really good, just like sour candy. I could easily drink this all day.

Poured from 375mL bottle (batch: 004; bottled 02/13/17). Clear light red rosé colour with pinkish head. Tart raspberry, prominent mild brett sourness, hint of oak. Dry acidic finish with just a touch of dissipating stickiness in the mouth.

This is from batch 4. Poured from bottler into snifter. Pours a light rose color with 1/2 - 1 finger head, which is pretty resilient. Aromas of raspberry and some floral notes. Taste is nicely tart without overpowering the classic Brett taste. Really nice. Really long raspberry finish - carbonation is just right and tingly.

On tap at Firewstone Walker Barrelworks. Pours hazy milky red with medium white head. Fruity, raspberries, bit lactic, citrus, lemon, just right amount of sourness. Refreshing. Medium bodied. Very nice.

Pours a peachy red colour, slight haze. Frothy, slightly off white head - lasting and good lacing. Powerful raspberry and candy aroma, with a bit of a lemon edge. Immediate tart acidic raspberry, lemon and sherbert on tasting. Lovely long tart finish. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Absolute belter

At the taproom at the start of our vacation to San Diego. Rose colored with minimal light pink head. Massive raspberry balances nicely with a slight tart. Faint malt supports.

Sampled during stlcbw. Golden red with a pinking foam. I smell cherry. But taste a lot more than that. Uber complex fruit. Berries, strawberry, peach, etc. etc. A fizzy feel. This is a blast of flavor. Funk is seconadary.

Bottle. It poured a ruby red color with an off-red head. The aroma was of red berries, florals, grains and floral hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more red berries, florals, grains, hops and wood. Very tasty.
