COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imagine yourself in Berlin’s Tiergarten enjoying this refreshing Berliner Weisse inspired beer on a warm summer’s day. Bretta Weisse honors the traditional beverage of the great Prussian capital, Berlin. Fredrick-the-Great was trained to brew it, and Napoleon’s troops called it “The champagne of the North”. Firm estery notes of stone and tropical fruit lead to Funky, yeasty, citrus aromas. Soft cereal and Oak flavors are enveloped by a firm acidity and tartness. The finish is dry and crisp; a thoroughly enjoyable beverage. At 4.5% ABV, one could imagine enjoying several Bretta Weisse’s in the Tiergarten, or anywhere else. This Berliner Weisse inspired Wheat beer was aged in 1700 gal French Oak horizontal foeders for 8 months.

Perfect berliner weisse. Had this in a bottle finally, before i’d tried it at barrell works at the brewery over a year ago. Nose is subtle citrus, funk. Taste is very bright, with lots of citrus, hints of pinapple, extremely balanced. finishes really smoothe. Love it.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Glowing hazy straw, bone white head, good lace. Nose is subtle funk, hay, orange zest, lemon. Flavor is same plus oak, faint tart yogurt. Lean, focused and achieves a complexity that goes above and beyond a Berliner without compromising adherence to style guidelines. Perfect example of the style.

onceblind (10289) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 19, 2016
UPDATED: APR 11, 2017 Slightly hazy golden with A thin white head, and a huge funky lemony wheaty nose, almost like a Berliner but with no brine, all tartness and a herbal bit of funk. Crisp and dry flavor full of tart funky lemon, a semisweet citrus peel tone and a sneaky bit of gentle salt. Crisp and lemony and really delicious and tart and slightly funky.

Troupis (261) - - JUN 18, 2017
Crisp and sour that lacks only in aroma. Not for the faint of sourness. Complex palate. On tap at Warrens Ale House in Wheaton. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

loved this 4.9 beer that had all the flavor of beers double that. nuanced peachy lemony aroma and flavor with some wheat in there as well. Smooth and refreshing, yet very flavorful and complex. Just what I hoped it would be.
