650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a beautiful translucent roan brown color with a minimal off-white heat that quickly disperses. The aroma features caramel, toffee, nuts and a touch of alcohol. The taste classic malty barley wine with caramel, brown sugar and toffee taking center stage and a nutty bitter hopiness filling in the sides. The palate is full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes long and semi-sweet. Overall: Very nice BW, and this is one that should age well. Lubiere (14150) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2013
A clear dark amber Barley Wine with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a nice dark caramel malt with vinous notes, dark fruits, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a superb sweet malt with pinot de charente character, floral hops, oily mouth, licorice, alcohol warmth, well done. Bottle at Downtown Brew fest LV 2013. pnadler (14) - Barrington, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Wow! The barrel aging really shines here. The sweet maltiness hits you first, and the heat from the alcohol takes over. This is a beautifully crafted beer.

Draft at 16 Tons, Eugene. Pours a dark brown caramel-like color. Little to no head. Aroma toffee, caramel, roasty notes, booze. A sharp oakiness, too. Body medium, thin booziness, surprisingly thin. Finish charred oak, brusque. Lovely. Scipio (1212) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - SEP 10, 2013
Pours a hazy reddish orange with a thin, light beige head. Interesting malty aroma consists of caramel, cherry, vanilla, and bourbon. Its is balanced well without a dominant impression. The taste loses some of the maltiness. Here I find a lot of cherry and bourbon, spruce hops, bread, and light vanilla and apple. To me, the fruity flavors are quite noticeable. LIght sweetness, and a short aftertaste of bourbon and cherry. Medium to light in body, a thin, almost watery texture, and about average carbonation. Fairly easy to drink. Nothing wrong with this one. maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - SEP 9, 2013
On tap, clear mohagany pour with small off white head. Aroma of bourbon, cherries, vanilla, caramel and oak. Taste of toffee, vanilla, bourbon, oakiness, hint of gran marnier, and roasted coconut. ABV a little hot until it warmed up closer to room temps. A little less of the bourbon taste would have scored this much higher, very good beer nonetheless. Two barrels and neither of them were very good. There just wasn’t much good to say about this beer. Aroma, not good. Appearance was sub par. Taste was so so at best. After taste was no good.
