COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DDBA is our flagship beer brewed at double strength. It is amazingly similar in many respects to our barrel fermented DBA and possesses everything we love about that beer times two. English caramel malts lend rich toffee character that pairs well with assertive medium toast American oak barrels.

Bottle, thanks to Kevin at G&G for saving me one. Pours a muddy, ruddy orange-red, fairly still and with just a wisp of head. The aroma reminds me of a Kentucky distillery. This drinks quite smoothly, the alcohol and oaken woodiness delivering a slow, pleasant burn on the palate. Rich with caramel and toffee, this is a great evening sipper. (#5204, 8/18/2013)

Strong sweet and boozy coconut aroma; amber appearance with a foamy off-white head; sweet, malty, alcohol taste; fizzy on the palate, smooth down the throat, with a sweet aftertaste; overall, what would be a fantastic beer is spoiled by my personal dislike of sweet malty taste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bomber into a snifter. Series 001, 2012. Pours a pretty light brown. Little to no head and lacing. Aroma is sweet coconutty and boozy. Mouthfeel is pretty med-thin and sticky. Taste is pretty much like the aroma but with some wood paint licorice and rubbing alcohol. This sucker would have to sit another couple years to mellow out. Too bad, I really like the DBA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Firestone Walker Barrelworks. A clear amber colored beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma has lots of dark dried fruits, some faint spiced notes, alcohol notes and peach hints. Full bodied, soft and a bit too warming on the palate. Lasting flavor with alcohol, loads of wonderful dark dried fruits, a hint of vanilla and a little sweetness. Some bitterness too it seems. Yet another wonderful one. 130809

On tap in Pleasanton . Sweet caramel with earthy hop floral and pleasant . Light almond vanilla . Flavor is rich but not overpowering . Great food beer . Hops have English character and play well with oak One of my favorite beers to have as a local staple

26 July 2013, tap at Firestone Walker Barrelworks in Buelton, CA. 2012 variety - brown, clear, no bubbles. Nose is nutty, syrup, milk chocolate, moderate alcohol. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Lots of milk chocolate, some chocolate bitterness, moderate alcohol. 2013 variety - light ruby, clear, no bubbles. Nose is fruitcake and grape juice. Full body, syrupy, and moderately fizzy. Sugary, malt balls, some powdered chocolate milk. Great! (I prefer the 2012 version) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
