on tap (FSW tap takeover) @ Livermore Saloon during SF Beer Week. Clear, red, very little head. Smells sweet, caramel, vanilla, bourbon. Taste adds fruit, oak, nuts - although it is sweet, especially up front, light alcohol burn. Medium body, low carbonation makes it drinkable. Good and different but not near my favorite Firestone brews due to the sweetness. oRos (1674) - sacramento, California, USA - FEB 28, 2013

Bottle at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Poured a bright copper colour with a round glass hugging head and a thick oily consistency. The aroma is rich fruit, toffee and caramel. The flavour is weak bitter, sweet, oaky and with some slightly rich alcohol burn on the palate. This is a truly superb beer which seems like a beer on a whole new level. Bottle @ home. I’ve really enjoyed the other Firestone Walker potent stuff, so I was excited to pick this one up and try it. Pours a somewhat hazy, amber appearance with a sizable, fluffy, light brown head. Sugar, rich caramel, toffee, somewhat herbal, a bit grassy, thick malty, sweet aroma. Quite rich, toffee, coffee cake, mild oak, vanilla, sugary caramel, somewhat fruity, light passion fruit, tangerine, big candy sugar flavor with herbal bitterness and some booze on the finish but it’s somewhat masked by the super rich sugary notes. I’d like to like this more, but it’s so fucking sweet. BoBoChamp (5754) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 23, 2012
65cl, Vintage 2012, as Firestone Double DBA, exclusive American brew, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex brew, sweet/alcoholic and slightly spicy/woody, very heavy, not balanced, cloudy, small head, good brew, yet very expensive!
